RED RAIDERS HIT THE ROAD FOR THE FIRST TIME Fresh off a season-opening win over Northwestern State this past weekend at Jones AT&T Stadium, Texas Tech hits the road for a nonconference clash at Texas State. Saturday’s game will mark the first appearance for the Red Raiders in San Marcos and just the second meeting against the Bobcats. Texas Tech will be Texas State’s first opponent in a newly renovated Bobcat Stadium that went from a capacity of 16,000 to 30,000. The game will also mark the first home game for Texas State as an FBS school and a member of the WAC (Western Athletic Conference). Saturday’s game will be televised on ESPN3.com (WatchESPN) while the Texas Tech Sports Network (Learfield Sports) will carry the radio broadcast across 38 network affiliates.

THE MATCH-UP Texas Tech and Texas State will meet for just the second time this weekend in San Marcos. The two teams met in Lubbock for the season opener last season where the Red Raiders took a 50-10 victory. Texas Tech is hitting the road for a non-conference game in Texas for the first time since falling at No. 17 Houston, 29-28, on Sept. 26, 2009.
