NEW MEXICO • LUBBOCK, TEXAS • MARCH 7 Following four weekend tournaments to start the season, No. 19 Texas Tech hosts its first midweek doubleheader of the season when the New Mexico Logos come to Lubbock for a 1 p.m. contest Wednesday at Rocky Johnson Field. LIVE STREAMING Texas Tech will stream every home game this season at RaiderVision All-Access on the school’s official website, www.texastech.com. The online stream will be offered free of charge. GAMEDAY CENTRAL Texas Tech fans unable to make the trip to Lubbock can keep up with all the action through the Gameday Central page at texastech.com. The page will contain live scoring, an in-game blog, and stats and box scores from every Tech game along with postgame video from head coach Shanon Hays. NATIONAL RANKINGS Texas Tech...............................................................No. 19/20 New Mexico....................................................................None (ESPN.com/USA Softball - NFCA/USA Today) RED RAIDERS RANKED 19TH NATIONALLY The Red Raiders are ranked No. 19 nationally by both the NFCA/USA Today and ESPN.com/USA Softball polls as Tech remains one of the few undefeated teams in the nation. The ranking is the highest in school history as prior to this season Tech had not been ranked in either poll since ending the 1999 season at No. 24 in the NFCA rankings.
RED RAIDERS ALREADY OFF TO RECORD SEASON After beginning the year with the best start in school history thanks to a 5-0 showing at the ASU Kajikawa Tournament, Tech added to its list of early-season accomplishments last Sunday. The Red Raiders won their 22nd-straight game, continuing the squad’s best start in school history. ALLEN NAMED BIG 12 PLAYER OF THE WEEK Texas Tech’s solid start to the season appears to be catching notice around the Big 12 as Cydney Allen was named this week’s Player of the Week by conference officials. Allen follows teammate Logan Hall who earned the award just a week ago. The junior from Taylorsville, Utah went 7-for-13 at the plate in the Red Raider Classic to go along with three home runs and nine RBIs. THE SERIES Texas Tech and New Mexico will be meeting for the first time since the 2009 season as the Lobos maintain at 16-14 all-time advantage over the Red Raiders in the series. Tech enters the doubleheader having lost four of its last five against New Mexico. ON DECK The Red Raiders close their 25-game homestand this weekend in the Masker Rider Invitational as Tech takes on Evansville and Alcorn State over six games, beginning Friday at Rocky Johnson Field. Tech will then take a Spring Break trip to Clearwater, Fla. for the USF - The Game Tournament, March 17-20.

Leads the Big 12 in batting average and already has 40 RBIs this year. Solid presence in the middle of the lineup with a .397 average. Drove in 11 runs during Red Raider Classic; batting .436 on the season. Junior has already set a career high for RBIs in a season with 15 thus far. Powerful hitter who leads the Big 12 with 11 doubles. Been reliable out of No. 9 hole with a .371 average and six RBIs. Smashed three HRs last weekend; second on team with .481 average. Southpaw who has posted two one-hitters this year and a 5-0 record. Shares Tech lead with seven wins over 25 innings pitched. Earned first win of the year against St. John’s; primarily used in relief. Freshman is 7-0 already with 2.11 ERA after team-leading 49.2 IP. Primarily a reliever with her success out of the pen; recorded 1.29 ERA.
