The Red Raiders appeared at No. 21 in the ESPN.com/USA Softball poll and No. 24 in the NFCA/USA Today rankings. Tech’s selection in the ESPN.com/USA Softball poll is the highest ranking in school history. Tech’s last appearance in the top 25 came at No. 24 in the NFCA poll at the conclusion of the 1999 season.

LIVE STREAMING Texas Tech will stream every game of the Texas Tech Invitational that involves the Red Raiders through the online portal RaiderVision All-Access on the school’s official website, www.texastech.com. The online stream will be offered free of charge.

TECH TOPS TWO RANKED TEAMS IN ARIZONA Heading into the Arizona State Kajikawa Classic, Tech head coach Shanon Hays really didn’t know what to expect from his young squad. The Red Raiders ended the week with two wins over ranked opponents in No. 16 BYU and No. 12 Cal en route to a perfect 5-0 record, the only school among the 27 participating to do so. Tech also topped Bradley, Indiana, and Appalachian State last weekend on the way to its best start in school history.

GAMEDAY CENTRAL Texas Tech fans unable to make the trip to Lubbock can keep up with all the action through the Gameday Central page at texastech.com. The page will contain live scoring, an in-game blog, and stats and box scores from every Tech game.

UP NEXT Texas Tech continues its homestand next weekend with the start of the Jannine McHaney Memorial Classic. The Red Raiders will face St. John’s, Northern Illinois, and Wichita State during the three-day event that runs Feb. 25-27.

Angelo State transfer hit first HR of the season against Appalachian St. Drilled a three-run HR against Bradley, one of Tech’s top fielders Hit .438 last weekend with the walkoff HR against Appalachian St. Hit .250 last weekend with a HR against Bradley and 3 RBIs. Posted a .467 average last week and career-high 5 RBIs on Sunday. Powerful hitter who had 4 RBIs last weekend and a .353 average. Reliable hitter from the No. 9 hole, finishing with a .500 average. Made a quick impact, hitting a team-high .556 with a HR and 5 RBIs. Earned the win against Bradley in her first start as a Red Raider. Was Tech’s choice to pitch in jams last weekend, not allowing a run. Appeared twice last weekend, including a start against Indiana. Freshman received the majority of innings; went 1-0 with a save. Right-handed freshman proved to be a solid reliever with 2.74 ERA.
