RED RAIDERS RETURN HOME FOR OSU Following two-consecutive games on the road, Texas Tech returns to the friendly confines of Jones AT&T Stadium this Saturday to host No. 21 Oklahoma State in an 11 a.m. kickoff. n The Red Raiders knocked off a 15th-ranked Cowboys team a year ago, stunning the Stillwater crowd following a 41-17 victory that marked Texas Tech’s first win over Oklahoma State since 2008. Tech will be looking for back-to-back victories over the Cowboys this weekend for the first time since winning three-straight games from 2000-02 in what has historically been a tight series. n

ANOTHER WEEK, ANOTHER TOP-25 FOE Oklahoma State represents the second top-25 opponent for the Red Raiders in as many weeks after Texas Tech fell at No. 6 Oklahoma this past weekend in Norman. This is the second-consecutive year and the fourth time in the past six seasons where Tech has opened Big 12 Conference play against ranked opponents in back-to-back weeks. n The Red Raiders will be searching for their first top-25 win at home since the 2013 campaign when Texas Tech topped No. 24 TCU, 20-10, early in the season. A victory over No. 21 Oklahoma State would mark the highest ranked AP poll win for the Red Raiders at home since downing No. 4 West Virginia, 49-14, in 2012. n

In a league dominated by passing offenses, Texas Tech’s run defense will be put to the test Saturday against an Oklahoma State attack that focuses heavily on the ground behind the nation’s leading rusher Chuba Hubbard, who boasts 938 rushing yards already this year. n The Red Raiders limited Oklahoma State to only 128 yards on the ground a year ago, while totaling 224 yards and three touchdowns of its own in the running game. The Cowboys finished with only 386 yards of total offense as Texas Tech created two takeaways in the 41-17 victory. The strong play defensively allowed Tech to control time of possession as the Red Raiders had the ball for 41:17 as opposed to 18:43 for Oklahoma State. n
HONORING TWO LEGENDS
Texas Tech will honor the memory of two of its all-time greats the remainder this season in College Football Hall of Famers and Ring of Honor members Dave Parks and E.J. Holub. Parks passed away Aug. 8 at the age of 77, while Holub passed Sept. 21 at the age of 81. Texas Tech will wear two special helmet decals for both legends throughout the remainder of the 2019 football season.
WE, US & OUR PROGRAM Since his hire last November, Matt Wells has emphasized that the Red Raider football program will be a “We, Us and Our Program.” “This is a We, Us and Our Program. I’ve said it from day one it’s not about me, it’s not about the starting linebacker, running back or one coordinator or one fan. It’s the power of what we can do together. We’re not an offensive unit. We’re not a defensive unit. We’re a team. We’re Red Raiders. It’s the culture we are creating in this program. We need the passion of Red Raider Nation to make Jones AT&T Stadium the toughest place to play in the Big 12 Conference. We have to do it together.” - Matt Wells #WreckEm
