RED RAIDERS TRAVEL TO AMES TO FACE NO. 21 IOWA STATE Texas Tech wraps its week-long road trip Saturday evening when the Red Raiders travel to face No. 21 Iowa State in a 6:30 p.m. first serve at Hilton Coliseum. INSIDE THE IOWA STATE SERIES The Red Raiders will be looking to snap a 12-match losing streak to the Cyclones Saturday as Texas Tech’s last win in the series came on Oct. 14, 2006, in a five-set victory at the United Spirit Arena. Despite the losing streak, Tech still leads the all-time series with Iowa State, 20-16. The Red Raiders are also 10-7 when playing Iowa State on the road despite having not picked up a win in Ames since taking a 3-1 victory on Sept. 25, 2004. The Cyclones defeated Tech, 3-1, earlier this year in Lubbock.
PLAYER TO WATCH #6 Sophomore BREEANN DAVID Outside Hitter
Denver City, Texas
Denver City H.S.
Breeann David enters this weekend coming off her best two performances of the season as she has combined for 28 kills over the past two matches. The sophomore connected on 14 kills against both West Virginia and Oklahoma in the last week as she finished just one shy of her career high in Big 12 play. David has been in double digits for kills in each of Texas Tech’s last three matches as she also totaled 12 kills on Oct. 20 at Kansas State. In addition to her offense, David has also added nine blocks during the last two matches, including six against West Virginia that was her most ever during league play. She also finished one block shy against the Mountaineers of matching her career high that she set earlier this year with seven against Northwestern State.
