HIKING

Trinchera’s hiking trails wind through one of the largest protected landscapes in the West, where six ecological steppes rise like a staircase. Our expert naturalists guide the way, from creek-fed meadows to aspen groves and alpine summits, sharing subtle details, hidden overlooks, and wildlife sightings along the way.

FLY FISHING

As the largest conserved property in the U.S. Fish and Wildlife portfolio, Trinchera features nearly 200 miles of snowpack-fed streams, creeks, and waterways—home to the rare Rio Grande cutthroat trout. Whether fishing a peaceful pond near The Lodge or hiking to seldom-cast alpine waters, you’ll be guided by stewards who know every bend by heart.

CONSERVATION & WILDLIFE

Trinchera stands as a living laboratory and cornerstone of conservation in the American West. Our signature Stewardship Experiences place you alongside our expert team to track elk, spot raptors, and learn hands-on techniques in a landscape protected in perpetuity.

MOUNTAIN & E - BIKING

Explore 200+ miles of two-track and gravel roads across wildflower meadows, sunlit ridgelines, and high-country clearings. Each route is tailored to your pace, from easygoing loops to challenging backcountry rides—with the rare freedom of no crowds.

STARGAZING

As a certified DarkSky destination, Trinchera offers breathtaking stargazing and a dedicated astronomy pad with four high-powered telescopes. The night sky opens wide, revealing constellations, neighboring galaxies, and the sweeping arc of the Milky Way with remarkable clarity.

Overnight Excursions

Trinchera’s overnight excursions take you deep into the alpine backcountry, where two off-grid cabins offer a rare chance to experience true solitude and the land after dark.
