“Enjoying
a refreshing drink and a delicious meal with family and friends, all set against the backdrop of Obsidian Lake — that’s a perfect summer day at Lake House.”
- CHEF DE CUISINE KRISTA MATHEIS
A destination for deep relaxation, The Spa at Sunriver Resort sets the tone for rest and renewal, welcoming guests and day visitors to unwind. From restorative massages to skin-soothing facials and outdoor rituals, each treatment is rooted in intention, connection, and a deep sense of care.
Inside The Spa, Sunriver Resort’s signature lavender and magnesium soak—formerly seasonal—has earned a permanent place on the menu thanks to its sleepsupporting, muscle-soothing benefits. The soak pairs naturally with a CBD massage or body wrap, a calming sensory experience that supports physical recovery.
Heart to Sole, Spa Operations Director Michelle LaCroix’s go-to treatment, offers a head-to-toe reset in just 50 minutes. Warm oil is massaged directly into the scalp and hair, then worked through the shoulders to release upper-body tension. Meanwhile, a rich coconut oil wrap soothes and saturates tired hands and feet, followed by focused massage through the calves, soles, and palms. It’s a sensory, full-body experience that restores calm from the crown of the head to the tips of the toes. “You may have had a massage elsewhere,” LaCroix says, “but this is truly unique.”
To round out The Spa’s restorative offerings, guests can also book a chakra rock layout—an energy-balancing treatment that uses gently warmed stones placed
along key points of the body. The experience is both grounding and calming, and guests are invited to take the stones home as a meaningful reminder of their time at The Spa.
Alongside more traditional therapies, technologyforward additions are finding their place at The Spa. Available for a solo day of renewal or a couple’s rejuvenation retreat, a new infrared sauna offers six targeted settings for inflammation, anti-aging, relaxation, and other popular treatments.
Wellness moves outdoors this summer with full moon sound baths, floating yoga with sound healing in the pool, and open-eye meditation sessions. Timed with celestial events like the Perseids and Alpha Capricornid meteor showers, these experiences are crafted to foster a deeper connection to the rhythms of the natural world.
YOUR SUMMER GLOW STARTS AT THE SPA AT SUNRIVER RESORT
This May and June, the Betty Gray Gallery at Sunriver Resort presents a new exhibition from the High Desert Art League—a collective of regional artists celebrating 25 years of creative collaboration. Through painting, printmaking, and photography, their work captures the textures, tones, and rhythms of the Northwest landscape.
Expect bold color, thoughtful details, and a wide range of styles that channel the spirit of Central Oregon. Featured works include River Reflections by Janet Frost, Winter Thaw by Helen Brown, Foxy’s Gang by Vivian C. Olsen, and Bison With Babe by Joren Traveller—each offering a fresh perspective on the beauty and stories of the high desert: winding rivers, wide skies, ancient rock formations, and the wildlife that moves through them.
What began as a small group seeking connection and critique has grown into a vibrant artistic community. League members now exhibit across the Northwest and work in a variety of mediums, including oil, watercolor, pastel, printmaking, photography, and encaustics.
Join the artists on May 30 from 4–6 PM at The Lodge for a celebratory reception filled with art, conversation, and a little creative inspiration.
Set your sights on savory and sweet baked goods from Curmuffins, including their most popular mushroom, parmesan, and gruyere galettes, English muffins, focaccia, brioche braids, and croissants. Owner Lillian Owen, a Sunriver local, lights up at the idea of a neighborhood market. “This is our community and it is wonderful to see it growing in this way,” she shares, “My parents taught me that if you want something to exist in our town, we need to support and participate in it. As a result, I’m always excited when something I love comes to my neighborhood.”
Owen’s farm-to-market-to-table philosophy is at the heart of Curmuffins. Throughout the summer, she sources ingredients from fellow vendors and turns their fresh finds into the next week’s batch of baked goods.
Frank and Janelle, the husband-wife duo behind Well Rooted Farms, are bringing their fresh approach to farming to the Sunriver Resort Farmers Market.
Frank grew up raising sheep and selling eggs to local stores, while Janelle brings her background from an organic hay and cattle farm in Saskatchewan. Together, they’re committed to raising animals on fresh green grass with plenty of sunshine and room to roam in Bend.
Their market stand will feature an impressive selection of premium dry-aged beef and pasture-raised pork cuts, along with farm-fresh eggs. Look for their unique whipped tallow balm, too—a three-ingredient skincare product made from their own rendered beef fat that customers use for everything from moisturizing to healing minor skin issues.
Jimmy Broadus, owner and head beekeeper at Broadus Bees in Bend, brings a sweet assortment of honey products to the market. His signature Raw White Clover whipped honey stands out for its distinctive consistency, a must-buy at his booth.
“Our whipped honey is smooth and thick, with a texture that doesn’t crystallize,” explains Broadus. “It spreads like butter on bread, which really sets our product apart.” All of Broadus Bees’ honey is made using sustainable
farming methods and kept completely natural and unprocessed—something the team is deeply passionate about. Alongside their best-selling Bend Wildflower honey, harvested from bees pollinating local mountain wildflowers, they’ll offer a variety of honey-infused products at the market, including lip balms, throat sprays, and handcrafted soaps.
Courtney Schuur and Ethan O’Brien started North 44 Farm in 2016 with just a few cows, sheep, and a shared vision. Today, their Bend-based ranch produces premium grass-fed meat raised without hormones or antibiotics and Animal Welfare Approved by A Greener World.
What makes their meat special? Courtney’s chef background and Ethan’s engineering mind. She knows what cuts work best in the kitchen, while he focuses on healthy soil and diverse pastures. Together, they’ve created a sustainable ranch where animals graze on fresh grass and help restore the land instead of depleting it.
At the market, look for a curated selection of their most popular offerings—dry-aged steaks, sausages, pastured chicken, ground beef, and seasonal lamb cuts, perfect for dishes like one of their favorite recipes featuring crispy ground lamb, asparagus, thick pasta, and pools of feta.
“We’re fortunate to live in a place where you can meet your farmers face-to-face and establish relationships with your food, your farmer, and your community,” says Courtney Schuur of North 44 Farm. By bringing producers directly to guests, Sunriver Resort makes it easier than ever to enjoy the region’s agricultural bounty. “Giving folks access to high-quality local foods is always beneficial,” adds Lillian Owen of Curmuffins. “It adds convenience, too.”
That spirit of connection extends behind the scenes, too. Sunriver Resort’s culinary interns will join Lodge Kitchen chefs at the market to source local ingredients and gain firsthand experience in farm-to-table cooking—a reminder that every bite has local roots.

Well worth the scenic 1.5-hour drive from Sunriver, Crater Lake National Park is one of the world’s deepest, bluest, and purest lakes and one of Oregon’s Seven Wonders. Situated atop the Cascade Mountain Range, it’s surrounded by ninety miles of trails and diverse forest. The historic 33-mile Rim Drive circles the lake and offers breathtaking views from more than 30 scenic overlooks ideal for photography and sightseeing.
There’s nothing like a summer road trip in the American Pacific Northwest—a family tradition spent with windows down, the wind in your hair, chasing the horizon, and pulling over just to take in the view. Central Oregon captures that spirit perfectly.
Surrounded by mountains, rivers, lakes, and national forests, Sunriver Resort lies in the center of it all, offering the ideal home base for everything from peaceful nature walks to invigorating day trips. Whether you’re fishing, hiking, biking, or soaking up the summer sun, adventure is never far—right here or just a short drive from the resort. A short drive west of Sunriver along the Cascade Lakes Scenic Byway brings you to a series of pristine alpine lakes perfect for paddleboarding, kayaking, or simply soaking in the sun. Elk Lake, just 40 minutes from Sunriver, is a family favorite with calm waters, a beach picnic area, and a shallow shoreline ideal for little ones. Nearby Sparks Lake, about 35 minutes away, is popular among paddlers and photographers alike, with no motorboats allowed and wide-open views of South Sister.
Just 15 minutes from Sunriver, this volcanic wonderland offers dramatic landscapes and outdoor adventure. Drive to the top of Lava Butte for 360-degree views of ancient lava flows and the Cascade Mountains, then explore the surreal Lava Cast Forest, the glassy Big Obsidian Flow, or descend into Oregon’s longest lava tube at Lava River Cave. Further south, the Newberry Caldera features Paulina Lake and East Lake—perfect for paddling, fishing, or soaking in hot springs—with breathtaking views from the summit of Paulina Peak.
From novice to seasoned anglers, the rivers near Sunriver offer world-class fishing year-round. Just 15 minutes away, the spring-fed Fall River flows cool and clear through pine forest and into the Deschutes River. Open to fly fishing only, it provides excellent opportunities for both wading and bankside casting in a serene setting.

Discover how the Pacific Northwest’s premier residential resort community makes creating your dream mountain retreat a seamless experience.
There’s something extraordinary about building a home at Caldera Springs. Maybe it’s how each site feels cradled by nature—where pines stretch skyward, water weaves through the land, and Mt. Bachelor provides a steady backdrop. Or maybe it’s how the process feels less like a daunting checklist and more like a shared adventure, made possible by a handpicked network of local experts who know how to turn a vision into reality. Born from the legacy of Sunriver, Caldera Springs has established a comprehensive support system that guides homeowners through every step of the building process, from selecting the perfect homesite to turning the key on their finished residence—all while maintaining the warm hospitality and adventurous spirit that defines life here.
Every home begins with the land. At Caldera Springs, that means choosing from a selection of homesites designed to bring you closer to nature—whether you’re drawn to mountain views, waterfront serenity, forested
privacy, or the convenience of being near new parks, trails, and amenities. Our real estate team is by your side from the start, helping match your lifestyle and vision with the right setting.
Among the current offerings, the Preservation Collection features spacious homesites, ideally located near the 220-acre Wildlife Forest Preserve and the newly completed Preservation Park. These nature-steeped sites offer a deep sense of connection to the land, while still being just moments from community amenities.
This spring, a new chapter begins with the debut of Wild Pine—a highly anticipated neighborhood that brings a fresh vision to life in Caldera Springs. Homesites located in Wild Pine will introduce a limited opportunity to build in the northeast portion of the community. Tucked into a quiet forest setting, these homesites offer exceptional proximity to Forest House, Forest Park, and the surrounding trail system, making it easy to connect with family-friendly amenities throughout the seasons.
As construction begins, homeowners at Caldera Springs benefit from the community’s relationships with builders who understand the unique considerations of building in Central Oregon’s climate. These partnerships ensure that construction progresses efficiently, with builders providing updates throughout the process.
And the end result? A home that reflects your values. A retreat that encourages you to slow down and step outside. A place where your story can unfold in step with the seasons—through backyard stargazing, snowy mornings by the fire, paddleboarding at the lake, and evening walks beneath towering ponderosa pines.
With Wild Pine on the horizon, now is the perfect time to explore what it means to build your dream home—not just anywhere, but in a setting that feels deeply connected to the landscape and lifestyle of Central Oregon.
Popular custom home features at Caldera Springs include elements that connect indoor and outdoor living, natural materials like wood beams and stone, dedicated spaces for offices or dens, bunk rooms paired with media or game rooms, and modern features like home automation.
The first release of Wild Pine will include homesites with tranquil water views, featuring ponds and streams that are thoughtfully woven into the surrounding landscape. Each homesite has been carefully placed to highlight its natural surroundings, offering a setting that feels both restorative and inspiring.
Once a homesite is selected, homes are brought to life by a trusted group of builders, all known for their exceptional craftsmanship, regional expertise, and deep understanding of what it means to build in harmony with Central Oregon’s landscape. Their collaborative approach ensures that each mountain home feels personal, purposeful, and right at home in the high desert.
With a builder selected, homeowners enter the design phase. Designing a home here is rarely a solitary effort. Architects and builders work side by side with owners, providing guidance through each stage of design— from first sketches to finish selections. The architectural review process, often a source of stress in other communities, is streamlined at Caldera Springs, where the goal is to protect both the natural environment and the homeowner’s creative vision.
With forested backdrops, golden-hour glow, and the ease of a full-service experience, a wedding at Sunriver Resort will feel as effortless as it is enchanting. And with this month-by-month guide—and insight from seasoned pro Ashley Ashby—each detail will fall beautifully into place. Whether you’re dreaming of an intimate gathering or a weekend-long celebration, thoughtful planning makes all the difference.

Hey there, campers!
I’m Scout, your Sunriver Resort summer sidekick and official camp expert. You’ve probably seen me zooming along the bike trails, doing backflips off pinecones, or catching a ride down the Deschutes River on a paddleboard. I may be small, but I know a thing or two about BIG fun—and let me tell you, Sunriver Resort’s summer camps are where the magic happens.
Let’s start with Kids Adventure Camp. If you’re 8 to 14, this is the place to be. Your day kicks off on two wheels with a bike ride through miles of paved forest trails (I like to race you from the treetops). Then it’s time to test your aim at Gray’s Trail, the coolest putting course this side of the meadow. You’ll munch lunch by the river—perfect for spotting ducks, dragonflies, and the occasional chipmunk doing cannonballs. And just when you think the day can’t get better...you paddle out for a six-mile float down the Deschutes. It’s splashy. It’s scenic. It’s totally epic.
More of a golf nut? (Same.) PXG Junior Golf Camps are perfect for ages 7 to 16. Real-deal instructors help you crush your swing, master the greens, and have a blast out on the course. And if you’re brand new to golf, don’t worry. The “Fun”damentals Camp is a great place to start. One-hour lessons, cool coaches, and all the gear you need—easy peasy.
So, what are you waiting for? Grab your water bottle, lace up your sneakers, and tell your grown-ups to get you signed up. I’ll be out there too—zipping between trees, cheering you on, and maybe sneaking a snack from your backpack (hey, I’m a chipmunk, it’s what we do).
See you this summer,
SCOUT
In the northeast section of Caldera Springs, where sunlight filters through tall pines and trails wind past quiet ponds and meandering streams, a new neighborhood has taken shape. Wild Pine’s first release includes just six homesites with tranquil water views, thoughtfully positioned to offer a deeper connection to nature. Here, you’re moments from Caldera Springs’ community amenities, with the world-class offerings of Sunriver Resort and the alpine adventures of Mt. Bachelor just 20 minutes away.
Dear Friends,
As we enter the summer season, I’m excited to reflect on the continued vibrancy and demand for Sunriver and the surrounding communities. Summer in Sunriver is always memorable— everything peaks, from the lush greenery to the warm sun, creating the perfect environment for family getaways, outdoor adventures, and making memories that last a lifetime.
Reflecting on the first quarter of 2025, it’s clear that the Sunriver real estate market remains strong and full of opportunity. The median sales price reached $806,000—up 13% from last year, highlighting the ongoing value and appeal of investing in our community. We also saw 42 closed sales, a 20% increase, which speaks to the sustained demand for both primary and seasonal homes. One of the most interesting developments this spring has been the rise in inventory. While inventory has remained relatively limited in recent years, it was encouraging to see 73 new listings come to market this quarter, offering more opportunities for buyers eager to make Sunriver their home.
Another key trend we’ve observed is the influx of builders acquiring homesites at Caldera Springs and building new construction homes, signaling strong interest in this residential resort community with close ties to Sunriver Resort. In addition, I’d like to take a moment to recognize the Caldera Springs Real Estate team here at Sunriver Realty. Since the Eastern expansion, they’ve achieved an impressive sales volume totaling $99,883,600, including nine closings in April alone, further cementing their leadership in the market. Their efforts, alongside our entire team, help reinforce our position as the local experts for Sunriver, Caldera Springs, Crosswater, La Pine, and Three Rivers South.
We are also thrilled to welcome new members to the Sunriver Realty team. Marketing Administrator Stacy Hinz and Broker Ryan Moritmore bring invaluable expertise and energy to our office. With their addition, we continue redefining the real estate brokerage model in our hometown market, leveraging innovative tools and resources to serve our clients and agents better.
Our position as Sunriver’s premier brokerage allows us to leverage our access and knowledge to serve buyers and sellers in ways other brokerages can’t. Our valuable partnerships with Sunriver Resort and Sunriver Resort Vacation Properties (SRVP) provide seamless access to property management and vacation home rental platforms, ensuring that every aspect of your real estate journey is well-supported. Whether you’re looking to purchase a primary residence, a vacation home, or invest in a rental property, Sunriver Realty has the expertise and resources to help you achieve your goals.
I invite you to visit our Real Estate office in Sunriver Village, conveniently located next to Starbucks. Our team of expert agents is ready to listen to your needs, answer your questions, and be your trusted advisor.
