EVERYTHING STAYS IN FLOW! At Donkey, we believe that a brand only stays alive if it keeps moving. 2025 was a year full of movement for us – full of new ideas, projects and interactions. Following our brand relaunch, we initiated many things that make Donkey even more visible, tangible and vibrant. That's why we developed MYNEKO this year – a further development of our popular Lucky Cat collection. In addition to new colors and the world's smallest solar-powered waving cat, we have also completely redesigned our branding and packaging. You can find out more about this in this catalog. Our Donkey Talks event series has quickly become an inspiring meeting place. In 2025 alone, around 400 guests from the worlds of creativity, design and business visited our campus to talk about new ideas, courage and the future. But we don’t wanted to talk on stages only. So we did it and started our first podcast »GOOD GOODS!« The idea is to give a platform to people who have turned extraordinary ideas into successful products, from Deichkind to Toniebox to Kangaroos. And with Donkey Cottage, we opened what is probably the tiniest motel in the world in Hamburg, furnished with Donkey products. It's a place where our design concept can be experienced.
All these projects have one thing in common: they are born out of curiosity, enthusiasm and the desire to constantly try new things. That's exactly what keeps Donkey fresh, and ensures that our products always stay ahead of the curve. But why all this? Because standing still has never been our thing. We launched our first joint Lucky Cat in Miss Pompadour's trend colour back in 2025. And because it's such a good match, we will be launching another joint Lucky Cat in 2026, which will be very special this time. In an unprecedented shiny shimmer tone that perfectly embodies the 2026 trend colour »blue with soap bubbles«. Miss Pompadour and DONKEY—it just works because we make people happy and empower them.
The DONKEY Creative Lab is the heart and brain of DONKEY and gives us as a brand the opportunity to be more than just a retail company. In the Creative Lab, great ideas are turned into great companies, workshops, collaborations and, of course, products, collections and events. JOHANNA SCHWARZER Johanna Schwarzer is an illustrator and artist from Frankfurt. She is known for her unique typeface and lines. Together with her, we have developed a collection that is made for cold days. With the large mug, an anti-scent candle, the glass spray bottle and the cozy woolen blanket, the cold, grey days become relaxed Cozy Home Days. All products feature a statement in the typical Johanna Schwarzer font. The woollen blanket thus becomes the »Comfort Zone« and the candle bears the inscription »smells like nothing«. The »Big Hug Mug« is so big that you can »hug« it with two hands and with the »Karma Spray« you are doing something good for your plants and ultimately also for yourself.

HERR & FRAU RIO Donkey and the Munich-based risography studio Herr & Frau Rio have teamed up to pool their creative power and release unique art prints together. Sascha Wellm and Laura Sirch, the design duo behind Herr & Frau Rio, have created a total of five thematically unique collections: Space, Food, Animals, Happiness and Maneki Neko. From original illustrations to abstract designs, each motif is a true work of art. In a team of four, they print, design and tinker to get the best out of every order. Herr & Frau Rio are passionate artists for all projects related to printing, design and production. They work in a very similar way to Donkey - from the initial idea to the finished product. We did it! The first podcast from the DONKEY universe is here! Say hello to »GOOD GOODS – The podcast for good ideas!« What is GOOD GOODS about? It's about iconic products, but above all about the people behind them. We all know the Bobby Car, the Billy bookcase, the Stanley Cup and so on… The list of products we all know is long, but who invented them? Why do they look the way they do and, above all, why are they so successful? Where did the idea come from? What happened on the way to the finished, successful product? How did that affect the people and the brand? Our host and DONKEY founder Flobo wants to find out all this and much more from his guests. To do this, we dedicate each episode to a specific product and invite its creators to join us. We are already in season 2 and in the first season we welcomed guests such as Henning Besser from the band DEICHKIND, Julia Hummel from KangaROOS and Patric Faßbender from toniebox. TALKS DONKEY Talks is the event format from DONKEY. The event series, which takes place regularly at the Easterfield Campus, brings together a large network of entrepreneurs, creative minds and new faces. Exciting speakers provide inspiration for good ideas and new collaborations.
We are constantly working on this format and a lot has happened in 2025 alone. Every evening's theme now falls under the slogan: The future of creativity. The secret to its success is the apartment-style atmosphere.

Exciting talks on our small stage with speakers such as Bela B. from Die Ärzte, Lars Hinrichs from the Digital Art Museum Hamburg and Gabriele Fischer from brandeins are combined with conversations in the kitchen over snacks and drinks. Seats at each event are now so sought-after that we have a full house every time. In 2025 alone, we welcomed over 400 guests. The entire Donkey Talks network now has 1,500 members – people who want to stay up to date and are simply keen to make new contacts.
We are proud of this community, which consists of fans, customers and new contacts. After 22 Donkey Talks, we will continue in 2026 with big topics and fantastic people.

Our Lucky Cats have gained fans all over the world. When we launched the first four colours in 2018, it was only because of a photo shoot for other products, during which the photographer asked us if we had a single-colour Lucky Cat as decoration. That was the origin of the idea. When we launched the colours green, yellow, pink and light blue just one year later and showcased them at Maison et Objet in Paris, the Lucky Cats were an instant hit. We celebrated several successes, designed shop windows and created amazing installations, such as at the Reeperbahn Festival and the Australian Open in Melbourne. So we quickly realized the power of our Lucky Cats and how much joy they spread around the world. Until now, there was only one »problem«: Maneki Neko by Donkey started as a collection and that no longer does justice to its success. That's why we worked hard in 2025 to turn our Lucky Cat collection into a real brand. The result: MYNEKO. The MYNEKO brand stands for everything positive and beautiful in life. The Lucky Cat is a symbol of joy, sympathy and happiness. MYNEKO by Donkey carries these values from Japanese tradition into the modern age and makes the Lucky Cat an icon.

Its monochrome design reduces it to its iconic form, turning it into a design object. Its emotionality comes from the many different colours and the individual meanings behind each colour.While the colour makes the Lucky Cat a design object and the individual meaning gives it a story, each of them will now be given its own name. Thus, the Lucky Cat from DONKEY transforms from a design object with storytelling into a real character with which people can identify. In the future, each colour will be given a name that suits its colour and its meaning. We are starting with our new Special Edition Lucky Cats in Shiny Silver, Pink, Black and Gold. But all the other Lucky Cats will also gradually be given names, which you will then be able to see on each package and learn about their history. This way, everyone can find their own personal companion who waves at them and always makes them smile.
I am Avara. I make things feel light. With the new MYNEKO brand we redesigned our famous packaging for our Lucky Cats, too. You can see the new Logo at the top. Because every Lucky Cat get it’s own name, you can see this name and the story behind on the side oft he packaging. The frontside is designed very clean and pure to present the most important facts oft he Lucky Cat: colour, meaning, Logo and for sure the Lucky Cat itself.
