TRACK MEET IS FRIDAY!!!!: The yearly track meet IS HERE! Each year we host other Lutheran Schools from Northern Oklahoma to OUR campus for a day of physical and academic competition and fellowship for students in 1st grade and up (younger students may come and watch, but not participate). This years’ track meet will be held on Friday, May 3, and activities will be held both at PoHi’s stadium across the street (morning events) and on our campus (afternoon events). We invite you to attend the track meet with your kids’, cheer on all of the students, and lend a hand as we host the other schools. Please contact the office or Coach Amanda if you can help out for an hour (or longer) by assisting with events, assisting with bee’s, writing winning names on ribbons, sorting ribbons by school, etc. The order of events is attached to the front of this Chatter; please take a pic or cut it out and save it for Friday. NOTE!!!, the kids will spend a lot of time outside, so be sure to send/bring sunscreen for the kids to apply/re-apply during the day, and send a jacket if it is a cool morning (with their name on it of course). Our 7th graders will be running a concession stand, with the proceeds going to fund their trip to Washington D.C. next year. Be sure to send money with your student if they wish to purchase lunch or drinks/snacks at the concession stand; if they choose school lunch, it will be PB&J. You are, of course, welcome to send a lunch in a disposable bag. If you need to pick up your student in the middle of events, please come early and prepared to help us search for them on the field. . Be aware that the office may not be staffed continuously through the day, as we will be at the track meet part of the day. Please leave a message and we will get back to you as soon as we can. Student’s may be dismissed at the end of the days’ activities, so they may be looking for a ride home around 2:00ish. Daycare will be open after school is dismissed. Just contact me and we will get you involved. Thank you in advance for helping. OFFICE – Ms. Connie: Thank you to everyone who remembered me on Secretary’s Day; I do feel appreciated, and I appreciate you ALL for making me feel loved and appreciated! PRE-SCHOOL – Mrs. Colvin: Just a few weeks of school left, I can't believe summer is almost here! This week we will be reviewing ABC's, color shapes, and numbers. We will also be learning all about the ocean! Have a great week! PRE-KINDERGARTEN – Mrs. Kelly: We Did it! We filled our board with reading slips! Great job reading at home. Don't stop now! Continue reading through the summer to prepare for next year. Our Last Book order is due to me or online by Friday. This is a great way to stock up on books for summer reading! The track meet is Friday, please remember to bring your snack money. We will do our last show and tell Friday morning before the track meet. Our Lost Creek Safari field trip is next Wednesday after chapel. Look for the note in folders today. Our chapel offering this quarter is going to Camp Lutherhoma. Thank you for sharing your blessings throughout the year for some great organizations that help people. Our Bible words this week are, Continue in what you have learned. 2 Timothy 3:14 We are continuing to review our letters and sounds. Have a Blessed Week! PRE-KINDERGARTEN – Mrs. Heitman: These last few weeks of school we have several things scheduled. First, this Friday is our school track meet. Although we don't participate, we will walk over to the track as a class and sit together to cheer on our older friends. Please send $3 for concession snacks. Next, our field trip to Lost Creek Safari is NEXT Wednesday, May 8. If your child does not have a permission slip turned in they will need to stay home for the day. We do not have daycare available until after school hours. Finally, we've completed our Reading Challenge! We did a great job turning in slips! We will have an ice cream party in class to celebrate next Thursday. As we get ready to close out our school year we still need to be focused on our goals. For some of us that means going on to Kindergarten. Please continue to work on letters and sounds at home, and even try building words together! This past Sunday we said farewell to Pastor May. We wish him blessings on his new journey in MO! Please pray for him and Becky as they begin this next chapter, and pray for our church and school as we venture on to find a new Pastor. Our Bible words for this week are "Continue in what you have learned" 2 Timothy 3:14. KINDERGARTEN – Mrs. Miller: We will have our last show and tell this Friday on the 3rd. Please bring something that will fit in your backpack. We would like to say Happy Birthday to Easton (5-2), Lorelei (5-3), and Everly (5-30). Our spring musical will be Friday, May 10th at 6:30 pm in the church. Wow, the days are going by so fast! Have a magnificent week! -4-
FIRST GRADE – Mrs. Birnbaum: Memory verse for Thursday, May 2 is the 9th Commandment - You shall not covet your neighbor's house. We are excited for the Track Meet on Friday! One more date to mark your calendar - Thursday, May 16 we will have a 1st grade end of school celebration! We will go to 5th Street Park for a picnic and to play, and then to Braum’s for Ice Cream. Field Trip forms will go out next week. Have a great week and I look forward to seeing you for a fun day on Friday! SECOND GRADE – Mrs. Powell: Happy May Day! We seem to be flying to the finish. Help your second grader continue to complete home work, memory work, study spelling, and read for AR. Several of us are a bit behind. Friday is Track Meet day. Please plan to join us if you are able. Sunscreen your child in the morning and send concession money for lunch and water. Blessings! THIRD GRADE – Mrs. Steichen: Rain, Rain go away, come back after this week! Don't get me wrong this rain is great, but not when it threatens the track meet. We are praying that it is nice weather on Friday. For their presentation all they need is the written report and poster. Costumes only on Friday. Please let me know if you have any questions. Field Trip: Thank you to the Lindsey Family for driving us to our Third Grade Career Day. FOURTH GRADE – Mrs. Sibley: We now have some chicks, ask the kids what the status is. Permission slips for chicks are on a first come basis. Take home day will be late this week or early next week. Track day is this Friday. Put your sunscreen on before you come to school. Remember to have your concession money for lunch also. We will take our spelling, & reading test on Thursday, memory will be on Friday before Track Day. Cardinal bucks continue to be earned. Our classroom auction will happen at the end of the year, so please continue to be on the hunt for treasures at the store. Some are really on the move for AR to go to Sun & Fun the last week of school! WAY TO GO. Remember that signed Mid-Quarter reports were due back Monday. Continue to working on being a fifth grader to prepare for next year. Blessings on your week. FIFTH GRADE – Mrs. Schatte: I hope everyone is reading diligently to meet their AR goal this quarter. Every fifth grader must meet the goal for our class to participate in the activity at the end of the quarter. Since we read for AR 30 minutes every day this should not be a problem for anyone. Please stay in touch with your child's grades on Fast Direct. Some of us seem to have given up, and grades definitely reflect this. We just need to hang in there and do our best for several more weeks. Blessings on your week.

As for 6th grade, we’re working through the worldwide Revolutionary Era, beginning with the United States Revolution and moving onto the French Revolution. Alleluia, Christ is risen!
