Can you believe winter has come and gone already – I must say in my view it was not much of a winter Looking at our top line results for July and August, as a Group our Value (Revenue) has grown over last year, as has the Volume (Cases Moved) so congratulations and well done as some segments of the market have not performed as well. Looking forward to spring with people getting out and about enjoying more snacking and drinking (Soft & Energy Drinks) on the go to continue driving our sales number in the right direction. Kind regards, George Tsapoutas | CEO

60 Seconds with
60 Seconds with Christian Capito
A brief history of yourself – career, family, sports, and hobbies: I recently joined Lolliland as National Business Manager with responsibility of growing the business across the P&C and Grocery channels. I’m passionate about building strong partnerships and growing brands, with experience spanning sales, category management, supply chain, and marketing. Away from work, I’m an athletics and dance dad, household maintenance man, an amateur pest controller, or the family’s on-demand Uber driver. When I’m not wearing those hats, you’ll find me training jiu-jitsu, running marathons, hitting the gym, or shredding for a bodybuilding comp. I call it my personal fitness journey, some also call it my version of a mid-life crisis.
executions to life. I’ve always believed that success come from the effort and energy you invest, and there’s great satisfaction in seeing that pay off. I now have the privilege to bring Lolliland portfolio to life in the wider market, and I’m genuinely excited to be part of a proudly Australian confectionery business with more than 35 years of heritage delighting sweet-loving consumers.
What do you best like about your work? What I enjoy most about my role is the variety and the challenge it brings every day. From building strong customer relationships and identifying growth opportunities to bringing impactful in-store
Favourite food? Steak. I’m simple, if there’s steak on the menu, or anything grilled for that matter, the decision is already made. If there’s little time, I’ll event accept it air fried. (Yes, I’ve received countless feedback for “insulting” the meat with this cooking method.)
16 The Distributors Update – July/August 2026
What is your favourite drink? Coke-Zero (or pretty much any zero-sugar soft drinks). It’s the ultimate life hack for satisfying a sweet craving, while still staying in a calorie deficit. If “Party Christian” is in the house though, give me straight spirits: tequila shots, or neat whiskey the whole night.
Favourite restaurant? Any local pub to be honest! Even better if its karaoke night. How do you best get away from it all and relax? Nothing beats nature. Give me a sunny beach to relax on all day, or a national park with a walking trail to hike through. What is your proudest accomplishment to date? Without a doubt my family. As a kid, what did you want to be when you grew up? I wanted to be a lot of things, influenced by a lot of shows and movies! At various stages I was set on becoming a graphic designer, police officer, even a lawyer. Somehow, after all that, life’s journey led me into sales! It was meant to be. Who would you most like to be sitting next to on a long-haul flight and why? Ideally, someone who’s happy to put on their headphone, read a book, or sleep for most the flight. When you’re sharing a confined space for a long-haul flight, I appreciate a calm, low-maintenance travel companion. The less turbulence in the conversation, the better the flight. If you could be someone else for a day, who would it be? Maybe Steven Bradbury, but specifically the day AFTER he won that improbable gold medal at the 2002 Winter Olympics. Most embarrassing moment? Too many cases of confidently waving at someone who was actually waving at the person behind me. I’m near-sighted and rarely wear my glasses, so if I don’t wave back in public, don’t be offended. My squinting has probably let me down again! National coverage with award winning localised service | www.the-distributors.com.au 17

60 Seconds with Craig Brunt
A brief history on yourself – career, family, sports and hobbies: I’m a third-generation grocer. Arthur Brunt Quality Grocer dates back to 1920, when my grandfather started the business as a 20-year-old. I joined the business more or less at birth! As a little boy I packed desiccated coconut for five cents an hour, packed cheese, made icy poles and did lots and lots of warehouse work, picking and packing orders. By the 1980s I was Operations Manager. We were warehousing and manufacturing, and even made taco shells and corn chips in our own factory in Coburg (we brought Old El Paso & Casa Fiesta to Australia) and SPC did Ocean Spray for us. At the end of the 1980s the business went into retirement and I disappeared to Europe, where I spent about 30 years as a management consultant. I worked with everyone from supermarkets and food manufacturers to railways and nuclear power stations. 24 The Distributors Update – July/August 2026
I rejoined the family business five years ago and today I describe us as a 106-yearold start-up. We’ve gone from selling a few waffles from time to time to rebuilding a real food business – Mexican food for Woolworths, along with our own brands including CORN HARVEST, KRAZY and MRS BRUNTS. We seem to be heading fairly quickly down the snacking road. Personally, I have two wonderful 25-year-old twins, Yarran and Taree, who are DutchAustralian. Sports are skiing, tennis and running. My slightly unusual hobby is visiting factories. I suppose you could call me an industrial tourist – I’m fascinated by seeing how things work and how things are made. What do you best like about your work? Everything. Meeting customers, talking to suppliers, visiting factories, seeing how things are made, sitting in the R&D kitchen with the team and thinking up new things. I particularly enjoy innovation – finding genuine products and ideas that Australian consumers haven’t seen before.
What is your favourite drink? A red wine in the evening. A G&T on a summer’s day.
Who would you most like to be sitting next to on a long-haul flight, and why? My partner, because she tells the best stories – and she lets me have the window seat.
Favourite food? Anything interesting. Favourite restaurant? Street food just about anywhere in the world. How do you best get away from it all and relax? Go for a run out in the countryside with the cows and sheep, or quietly along the Yarra amongst the gum trees.
But otherwise, I’d enjoy seeing the world through the eyes of one of the youngsters doing the Grand Tour of Europe back in the day.
What is your proudest accomplishment to date? My two wonderful children, now 25 and making their own way in the world.
If you could be someone else for a day, who would it be? I’m pretty happy being me and I’ve been fortunate to have a very good life.
Most embarrassing moment? Grade 6 speech night – forgetting the words to my poem in front of about 600 parents, friends, family and children.
As a kid, what did you want to be when you grew up? By the end of high school, I wanted to be a dentist. Thank God I took an alternative road – I’m a third-generation grocer. :)

60 Seconds with Lisa Casaclang What do you best like about your work? That not everyday is the same, Energy is growing at such a rate that I am constantly on my toes.
Who would you most like to be sitting next to on a long haul flight and why? Michael Jordan, the original goat. I want to know all about his life and how he coped with the pressure.
What is your favourite drink? Full sugar Coca-Cola
If you could be someone else for a day, who would it be? Kim Kardashian, just to see what all the hype is about.
Favourite food? Ice Cream
Most embarrassing moment? Favourite restaurant? My Nans, she makes the best baked dinners. Being hit in the head with a boom gate when leaving a car park with my friends. How do you best get away from it all and relax? Put on a good show and curl up on the couch with my kids. What is your proudest accomplishment to date? The birth of my two children. As a kid, what did you want to be when you grew up? A sports star.

Introducing Before You Spe Fuelling RTD Coffee Growth
Australia is leaning into a fresh food and health-inspired range, and food-forward stores. This supports incremental food/bev missions where a functional RTD coffee attachment is natural. Channel tailwind: Convenience Stores food & beverage strength means bigger food-led baskets and trade-ups from legacy iced coffee to functional RTD with protein/benefits. Trips: A push to create more food-led visits. RTD is a natural “grab with” on those missions. Baskets: Food/bev is the growth engine; RTD’s are positioned as the cold coffee companion to sandwiches, wraps, bakery, protein bars. Trade-ups: Shoppers shifting from standard iced coffee to higher protein / high-caffeine/ benefits at a higher price point, justified by functionality and taste. Finance Insights
from William Lombard The global economy features fascinating records, historical anomalies, and massive scales that shape daily life. Massive Scale and Powerhouses •T rillion-Dollar Daily Trading: More than $5 trillion is traded on global currency exchanges every single day. •T he Biggest Players: The United States holds the world’s largest nominal Gross Domestic Product (GDP) at over $30 trillion, while China is the largest when measured by Purchasing Power Parity (PPP) • Tourism’s Huge Footprint: Travel and tourism contributed $11.6 trillion to the global economy, supporting about 1 in every 9 jobs worldwide.
32 The Distributors Update – July/August 2026
Bizarre Economic History •H yperinflation Extremes: Zimbabwe experienced inflation so severe that the government printed $100 trillion notes, forcing citizens to carry wheelbarrows full of cash just to buy basic bread or milk. •M ailing Children: In 1902, the U.S. Postal Service technically allowed parents to mail children under a specific weight limit via parcel post before the unusual loophole was closed. •T he First Stock Market: The New York Stock Exchange started under a buttonwood tree in 1792 when 24 brokers signed a simple trading pact. •T ulip Mania: In 17th-century Netherlands, single rare tulip bulbs traded for the price of entire canal-side houses and life savings before the speculative market violently crashed.
Some of the world’s national and global economies run on surprisingly bizarre mechanisms, windfalls, and historical quirks •A nguilla’s AI Windfall: The tiny Caribbean territory of Anguilla makes millions of dollars every month—totalling a huge chunk of its local revenue— simply by licensing its designated internet country code extension: .ai. Thanks to the global artificial intelligence boom, tech startups rush to buy .ai web domains, turning a two-letter suffix into a massive economic engine. • Tuvalu’s Web Domain Jackpot: The remote Pacific island nation of Tuvalu was granted the internet domain extension .tv. Realising its immense commercial value for television and media companies, Tuvalu leased the rights to a US company for millions of dollars. That single deal brought in enough revenue to pave the island’s roads, hook up internet access, and pay the country’s United Nations membership fees. • Djibouti’s Entire Economy Relies on a Neighbour: Djibouti is a tiny nation on the Horn of Africa with very few natural resources of its own. However,
its economy thrives because it serves as the primary maritime gateway for landlocked Ethiopia. Roughly 95% of all imports and exports for Ethiopia’s massive population flow through Djibouti’s ultra-modern port facilities, meaning a neighbouring country’s trade completely underpins Djibouti’s GDP. •P OW Camp Cigarette Currency: During World War II inside European prisoner-of-war camps, standard currency became useless, so Allied and Axis prisoners organically built a fully functioning economy powered entirely by cigarettes. Prices for food, clothing, and books were quoted in cigarettes. The camps even developed non-smoker deposit banks, loan sharks, and experienced real-time inflation and deflation based on when the next Red Cross care packages arrived.
