Seconds later several other guards rushed to the aid of their colleague, who appeared to be unconscious.

His inert body dangling from their arms, the guards rushed the injured man away from the prison cells, as the attacker stood watching.

The reason behind the attack has not yet been substantiated by the relevant authorities.

The Weekly News reached out to the minister with responsibility for the prison, Hon. Goldray Ewing, but he said he will not comment on the matter until he has a full report of what transpired from the Superintendent of the Prison, Grahame Hawkings.

He said the matter is being investigated by the police.

Human Rights Commissioner Sabrina Green has also stated that her department is investigating the incident.

Around midday on Thursday, more videos were released from the Grand Turk facility with prisoners complaining that they were hungry as they had not been fed all day. (By Delana Isles)
