What did you do before you began working in your current position?

I was a receptionist for a different real estate company.

What does your typical workday look like?

I started with Brookstone from the very beginning stages and have helped it grow to what it is today. I oversee all day-to-day operations from helping agents join our company with a smooth transition to making sure they are still happy years down the road. I run compliance of all transactions and memberships to ensure everything is running smoothly and efficiently. The agents are our clients, so my goal is to always make sure I am there to help them with whatever it is they may need.

How would you describe your job in one word?

Rewarding

Why do you think you excel at your job?

I love working in the fast-paced environment of real estate. Loving what I do every single day and being surrounded by a great support system make each day exciting and fun — and motivates me to go above and beyond.

What is the most rewarding aspect of your job?

Being surrounded by a supportive team and knowing I’m always working toward the next level in my career is very rewarding. I also enjoy meeting new people and getting to personally know the agents rather than just being a support staff member. We are a family at Brookstone, and I love that.

What is the most challenging aspect of your job?

The fast-paced and ever-changing environment of real estate.

What is one thing about you that others might find surprising or interesting?

I am a huge animal lover. I not only have many of my own fur babies, but I also am a foster with the Michigan Humane Society. My house is constantly a zoo!

When you’re not working, what do you like to do for fun?

I enjoy hiking, exploring, reading, swimming, going up north to my grandparents’ cabin and spending time with my family.

How do you feel about being nominated as a Behind-the-Scenes All-Star?

I was shocked to see that I was nominated for this. It was very unexpected, and I am completely honored and humbled.

Is there anything else you’d like to share about yourself, about your job or about your relationship with the person who nominated you?

I’m surrounded by amazing people and amazing leaders who inspire and encourage me to be better each and every day. I’m so thankful to have that with this company and to have found my place here at Brookstone. I say it all the time: I’m the happiest I’ve ever been, and I’m truly honored to work for Brookstone Realtors.

Jennifer Tait, managing broker at Brookstone Realtors, says that Kirstie has played a major role in the success and growth of Brookstone. “You will often hear Brookstone Founders Brandon Mulrenin and Bill Calunas say how Kristie is the best decision the company has ever made,” Jennifer said. “I truly agree with that statement and know all others at Brookstone also agree.”

According to Jennifer, Kristie goes above and beyond to individually help each one of Brookstone’s 135+ agents. More so, Kristie is very reliable: She always finds a way to get the job done — even in last-minute or high-pressure situations. “Kristie never needs to be asked more than once — you know it will get done and be done right when she takes on a task,” Jennifer said. “Whether it comes from staff on the leadership team, a Brookstone agent or a client, she is always more than willing to help and accommodate in any way needed.”

Jennifer appreciates what a great listener Kristie is and how she takes the time to hear all sides of a situation. “At our company leadership meetings, Kristie can be found taking notes and staying quiet for the most part; however, when she does speak up, she always leads with valuable, non-biased input,” Jennifer said.

Kristie plays a monumental role in the careers of Brookstone’s agents and staff members; it’s precisely why they voted her the “People’s Choice Award” winner in their office. “Once you get to know Kristie, it is apparent that she loves her family, cares about others, and truly loves and admires her work,” Jennifer said.
