JACOB - Owner & Photographer
Why did you choose to pursue a career as a photographer?
Photography always interested me, especially after I bought my first camera — a Pentax K110D — at the age of 16. I couldn’t put it down! With the encouragement of a brother, I turned my hobby into a business. I’m grateful that my work is something I enjoy.
What is the most rewarding aspect of your job?
Finding work in the creative fields isn’t easy. Being able to provide work for other photographers is very rewarding for me.
What is your funniest or most bizarre photo shoot experience?
I once went into a house that was supposed to be empty for the day. After ringing the doorbell and knocking, I used the key from the lockbox to open the door. Upon entering, I said “Hello. Photographer!” just in case someone was home but hadn’t come to the door. I was greeted with a friendly “Hello!” in reply. I was confused because the homeowners were supposed to be gone, and the voice sounded odd. After a couple of hellos back and forth, I went upstairs to the living room and was greeted by the cheerful face of the homeowners’ pet parrot.
What do you do to stay grounded/centered/sane?
Spending time with my family, friends and church.

TYLER - Photographer
Why did you choose to pursue a career as a photographer?
With a background in the creative field, I found myself wanting to pursue something different. Coincidentally at that time, I also met Jacob Harr. Proper timing is my answer.
What is the most rewarding aspect of your job?
Receiving feedback from the people I help. There are few things as satisfying as knowing my time and effort were genuinely appreciated.
What is your funniest or most bizarre photoshoot experience?
It’s tough omitting so many unique stories. Earlier this spring I was fortunate enough to take a step back in time by photographing a 1960 Cadillac Coupe DeVille parked in front of a gorgeous mid-century modern home. To me, that was quite bizarre.
How would you describe your photography style? What inspires you?
Calculated. Candid. A yin-yang experience. Seeking a story inspires me.
What is one thing about you that others might find surprising or interesting?
I have an absurd love for my hydrangea.
When you’re not working, what do you like to do for fun?
Before work, I love sitting on my porch with my cat and a cup of coffee. For better or worse, I enjoy my home teaching me new lessons. I also adore spending time with my family.
What is the most rewarding aspect of your job?
It’s been such a joy getting to experience something so meaningful to the homeowners and being a storyteller behind the lens.
What is your funniest or most bizarre photo shoot experience?
A few months back, I was taking pictures at a home and the agent was there helping to move things out of the way. We got to one room and realized there was a bunny cage we had to move. As soon as we lifted it up, the bunny escaped, and we spent like 15 minutes trying to catch this thing. What made it even more funny is that I had just asked the agent about her crazy real estate stories, and we could not stop laughing over this bunny on the loose.
When you’re not working, what do you like to do for fun?
If I’m not outside enjoying the beach and the warm weather or going on hikes, you’ll always find me at Starbucks — I have a serious iced coffee addiction.

DAKOTA- Photographer

The most rewarding aspect of my job is getting to meet a lot of people and hearing interesting stories and memories that were made in the house.

When I’m not working, I’m very active. I like to play tennis and work out. I also enjoy cooking and going to the beach.

JACKSON - Photographer
Why did you choose to pursue a career as a photographer?
I have been fascinated by photography since a middle school pinhole camera project. I chose photography because I love to make beautiful images and I don’t draw well, so creating art with photography works for me.
What is the most rewarding aspect of your job?
Meeting new people, hearing their stories and playing a very small role in a big event in their life.
What is your funniest or most bizarre photo shoot experience?
Having a real estate agent knock on a window while I was photographing in a vacant house. I haven’t jumped that high or quickly since I was 17!
How would you describe your photography style? What inspires you?
Documentary with an artistic flair. I’m inspired by people, colors, and structural lines and shapes.
What is one thing about you that others might find surprising or interesting?
I swam across Little Traverse Bay from Petoskey to Harbor Springs.

Landscaping and gardening.

CAEDY - Photographer
Why did you choose to pursue a career as a photographer?
I’ve always loved all forms of creative expression. When I graduated high school, my parents gave me my first nice camera, so I decided to take a class to learn how to use it. I immediately fell in love with photography and have been exploring the photo world since then.
How would you describe your photography style? What inspires you?
Photojournalistic and funky. I’m inspired by interesting light, in-between moments and Wes Anderson compositions.
What do you do to stay grounded/centered/sane?
I feel most at home in nature — Lake Michigan beaches are my happy place.

I love reading, backpacking, dancing and anything that brings me in contact with beautiful places or delightful people.

KAT - Administrative Assistant
How did you end up in the photography industry?
I fell into this position through a friend of mine. Growing up, I’ve always loved photography, and now I get to work indirectly in the industry as an administrative assistant.
What is the most rewarding aspect of your job?
I love being able to go through the finished photos and double-checking to make sure everything is correct and looks amazing. It’s rewarding because I get to see all the work the photographers do throughout the day as well as all the different homes.
What is one thing about you that others might find surprising or interesting?
I have always been an animal lover — which is no surprise — but this past year, I have worked extensively on training dogs. It’s now become kind of a hobby in which I am growing in my experience and helping others with their pets. I’ve learned so much about dogs and have a whole new level of appreciation for them.
What do you do to stay grounded/centered/sane?
I like to meditate and do yoga. It helps me stay in the present and just chill.
When you’re not working, what do you like to do for fun?
I enjoy all things outdoors like hiking, fishing, kayaking, etc. I am always looking for a new adventure.
