Passionate about sales and the real estate industry, Anthony Maisano pursued his dream of becoming a real estate agent after he earned his bachelor’s degree in finance with a concentration in real estate.

Prior to launching his business, Anthony had various jobs but never fully found the opportunities he needed to create the life he knew he deserved. For years, he worked at Ford Motor Company on the assembly line, followed by a brief time at Discount Tire. He also worked as a customer service manager for a horse and leather care company, and soon after, he spent seven years working with his step-family at their excavating business while also completing his college education.

“To achieve success, there is usually some level of risk and sacrifice,” Anthony explained. “I’ve never been afraid of taking risks because, typically, it pays off in the end to take chances on yourself. I have always believed in myself, and in my search to find my current occupation, I pressed forward, knowing that all my previous jobs were stepping stones to get me where I am today.”

In just three years, Anthony has built his career and has established lasting relationships with his clients through his work at eXp Realty in Plymouth. His career volume totals more than $15 million — $4.5 million of which was achieved last year. Anthony is also a member of the Grosse Pointe Board of REALTORS®.

“Given that I had no experience other than an education and a passion for the industry, I had to work hard and be very persistent to get ahead,” Anthony said. “Growing up, I watched other members of my family find success through self-employment; their achievements influenced and motivated me to find the same professional independence.”

Throughout his life, Anthony would often buy and sell vehicles, which developed his passion and confidence in sales. “I turned a parttime hobby into a real estate career that has allowed me to work for myself and create my own life — on my own terms — while continuously learning and growing within the industry,” he shared.

Anthony also found success in listening to his own voice and following his instincts. “Just because someone has done something in a certain way for years doesn’t mean you can’t be successful doing things your own way,” he said. “There’s value in listening to your gut, especially when it’s coupled with hard work and uncompromising ethics.”

Anthony first entered the marketplace in 2018, and like most new agents, he was met with the challenges of finding and keeping consistent business, and getting his sales to the closing table. “As I grew, I began to find innovative ways to bring in new clients on a consistent basis,” he said. “With time and persistence — and an open mind to learning — things got better. I also learned what worked for me and what didn’t. In doing so, I found my own business style that brought value to new and existing clients, which translated into solid relationships built on authenticity and trust.”

Currently, Anthony’s main focus is helping his clients get into a home they love while learning more and more every day. “As my workload continues to grow, I would like to someday start my own team to better serve my clients,” he said. Beyond that, Anthony hopes to own and operate

multifamily units and commercial space, as well as continue in the residential sales with a team of top-performing agents.

When it comes to family, there’s never a dull moment in Anthony’s life. His large family includes his brother, Dominic, two half-brothers Gino and Chris, and five step-siblings: Kate, Marlena, Olivia, John and Daniel.

Anthony is grateful he took a chance on himself to pursue his dream in real estate. “My advice to others considering a profession in real estate is to stick with it, learn as much as you can and take risks,” he said. “I never allowed myself to have excuses, and I always continued to push myself forward, even when I was unsure. And above all else, keep a positive mindset and attitude; it will go a long way.”

I’VE NEVER BEEN AFRAID OF TAKING RISKS BECAUSE, TYPICALLY, IT PAYS OFF IN THE END TO TAKE CHANCES ON YOURSELF.
