Why did you decide to get into real estate?

I wanted something where I was helping people and could have a flexible schedule. Although I am busy, it is a business that is family-oriented and flexible.

What does success mean to you?

Success means being able to provide a safe, happy home for my family. Success is helping my clients have the same thing.

What are you most excited about in your life right now?

I am most excited about growing my business to help ensure my family is as stable as possible.

When are you at your best?

I am at my best when I feel as though my home team — my family — is proud of me. I am at my best when I know exactly where to find the answers.

How did your challenges shape who you are today?

My challenges have shaped me to be empathetic to all humans. Perspective is key, and I never have a harsh judgment on anyone. I have also learned that I am a survivor of many hardships, and nothing can keep me down. I can set goals, educate myself and surround myself with successful people to encourage and inspire me to always do better.

What drives or motivates you?

I am driven by knowing that every day I can do something to learn more and help someone. I am driven by wanting to know and do more.

Who has helped you get where you are today?

So many … my family and friends for rooting me on, my partner, my kids. Shannon Hall, Boyd Rudy and Deanna DuRussel have all helped me in many facets of my life, not just my business. My clients who have trusted and referred me.

As a 2021 Best-in-Class honoree, what are your words of wisdom for the next generation of real estate agents?

Your future and ability to service clients will depend on your involvement — and investment — in your education and on support from your brokerage. Getting strong training early on is irreplaceable. When choosing a broker, do not focus on commission splits. Do not think of what your broker takes from you but rather what you get from them.
