Why did you decide to get into real estate?

I was always a salesman. From a young age, I raised and sold kittens and cockatiels. As I got older, it evolved into reselling cars, and real estate looked to be the next progressing step. I started real estate on the investment side; however, as I helped friends and family purchase, I realized I enjoyed the sales more than the investments. At that point, I went full-time.

What does success mean to you?

Success to me is recognition in the real estate world — being nominated for such awards is the best feeling. On the sales side, success is having the trust of my clients so that they can happily and unhesitatingly refer me to friends and family.

What are you most excited about in your life right now?

I am most excited in life to start traveling more. I am reaching a point in my career where I can more successfully balance my work and personal life. I am looking forward to exploring

What do you do to stay grounded/ centered/sane?

Lists and routines. Everything — literally everything — that I plan to do throughout the day is on a list and crossed off as it is done. It keeps me sane and on track throughout the day. My friends call me list-boy! Also, a daily routine for both work and personal life gives me structure.

How did your challenges shape who you are today?

My life challenges have always pushed me to want more. February marked five years of remission for me from Leukemia. During that time, it made me realize how short life was and not take anything for granted.

What drives or motivates you?

What motivates me is outworking my direct competition. Starting on a team of six other agents, I strived to compete with them and have more sales. I would often set up competitions with other agents I met at training seminars — the loser had to make a silly video on Facebook Live.

Who has helped you get where you are today?

My parents have been a huge factor in pushing me to where I am today, both in my professional and personal life. Most importantly, they keep me in a positive mindset and cheer me on, which helps make any obstacle feel small.
