N.B. The first name in the New Register is that of Joseph Cooper, 1856 March : The 2 others: John Riley 1856 , 9 Decr, Margaret * Hoyle 1857 16 Jan .: These 2 last have also been entered in this little Book See left hand page (in fine) . The 1st New Register Defunctorum finishes August 1881a second one follows that.

* In the original Register, at foot of p. 12 of MS. , John Riley is said to have been buried Dec. 14, 1856, and Margaret Hoyle 19 Jan. 1857. This note about the New Burial Register would seem to have been written by the Rev. Isidore de Gryse, who came to Chipping in 1865 and remained there till his death in 1912.
