NORTH LAKE TAHOE ACTIVE RECREATION North Tahoe and Tahoe City Public Utility Districts are collaborating to assess community needs for future active recreation opportunities. Phase 1 of the North Lake Tahoe Active Recreation Assessment asked our communities, “What do you want for the future of North Lake Tahoe Active Recreation? Over 600 community members participated in a survey and focus groups to share their thoughts and to help shape the future of North Lake Tahoe Active Recreation. Learn more about what we heard, community priorities, constraints, and opportunities for North Lake Tahoe Active Recreation by visiting www.northlaketahoeactiverecreation.org to watch a video presentation and read the Phase 1 Final Report. Phase 2 of the study, beginning this summer, will be to conduct and prepare a final active recreation facility needs assessment and feasibility study. The study will be used to determine how best to prioritize planning, funding, and the feasibility of creating new, modified, and/or consolidated active recreation facilities and activities across the North Lake Tahoe regional District areas, including, but not limited to, an aquatic center, gymnasium, community center, multi-use fields, skate park, pump track and covered ice rink. This is the first step in a several phased process that will include more opportunities for the community to provide input and influence planning.

Lake Forest Boat Ramp
tcpud.org/boatramp
In 2020, the TCPUD took ownership of the Lake Forest Boat Ramp and Campground. Located just east of downtown Tahoe City, the District has operated and maintained the property for over 40 years. The property offers public access to Lake Tahoe via the boat ramp, restrooms, parking, and 20 campsites located within walking distance of the Lake. District property owners and residents will now enjoy the benefit of a discounted daily rate for launch fees. A property owner/resident vessel sticker is required and must be ordered ahead of your first launch. Commercial operators must purchase an annual season pass per commercial vessel. This pass has been introduced to help control and ease impacts from commercial vessel launching. A per vessel commercial fee of $1,000 along with a Placer County Business License, General, Marine, Auto and Worker’s Comp Insurance will be required, and must be purchased online ahead of an operator’s first launch.
Boat Launch Operational Policies The Boat Launch is open daily from 6:00am-7:00pm. If your boat is NOT sealed you will NOT be permitted to launch.

Launch Policies
In response to low lake water levels forcing the closure of neighboring boat ramps in Tahoe Vista and South Lake Tahoe and an anticipated increased demand and traffic at the Lake Forest Boat Launch facility, the Lake Forest Campground will close on Friday, May 28 for use as daily overflow boat trailer parking (24 spots). Campground closure is in effect until further notice. Other mitigation efforts include: Continued “No Parking in Neighborhood” messaging from the launch kiosk.

WE WANT TO HEAR FROM YOU! The TCPUD’s Multi-Use Trail is a valuable recreation and transportation amenity that connects residents and visitors to the things they love to do around Lake Tahoe. Our goal of making continuous enhancements to the Trail System begins with a 3-minute survey to identify improvement opportunities. You can take the survey at any time by visiting tcpud.org/trails or simply scan the QR code on any one of our Multi-Use Trail signs located throughout the Trail System.
