The Women in Business networking group met May 23 and heard from guest speaker Amy Reid, of the Galveston County Small Business Development Center (SBDC). The theme was “Beyond Boundaries: Women Redefining Leadership” and was sponsored by Galveston County SBDC. Reid spoke about the transformative power of leadership. She taught the group how to shift from a task-oriented mindset to a vision-driven mindset. The group members participated in a few exercises where they built their own leadership vision statement. Then members participated in a group activity where they came up with ideas to have a successful future in their current place of work.

The next Women in Business Luncheon will be Wednesday, June 19 at Blue Lagoon Bar & Grill at Lago Mar. This event will be the second annual pop-up event. Visit and shop with local women-owned businesses and network with other women in business.
