Greetings and a Happy New Year from the Felix Morley Community Centre in Five Cays!
We are excited to share our latest updates and ongoing improvements, as we continue to strive for excellence in providing a vibrant and supportive environment for all members of the Five Cays community. We hope you had a safe and enjoyable holiday season!
• ESOL Classes: We are pleased to announce that our English as a Second Language (ESOL) classes will commence on January 11th, 2025. These classes are designed for beginners and will help participants improve their English and vocabulary skills. Spaces are still available if you are interested in signing up!
• Computer Class Tutor: We have been approached by a dedicated community member for our computer classes. He is interested in community development and higher learning and has a wealth of knowledge that he anticipates passing on to others. Watch this space for more updates – classes will be starting!
• Instructors Needed! Chair Yoga, Dance, Tennis, Education!: We are always looking for instructors/facilitators at the center so if you have a skill that you would like to share, please feel free to contact us!

Highlights from the Last Quarter
2024 was a very busy and productive year at the centre.
Here are some highlights of events/ activities that took place.
Sensei Sandro and some of his students are displaying their karatemoves along with a few of our talented boxers and some of the girls from kid’s football during our ‘WEAR PINK’ day @ FMCC in October, in support of Breast Cancer Awareness month.
Community Engagement
• Collaborative Efforts: We are thrilled to announce the first of many collaborative efforts, such as the Health Bus that visited on Friday, December 6th, 2024. Starting this year, the Health Bus will be available every 1st Wednesday and last Friday of each month. This initiative is part of our commitment to bringing essential health services directly to our community.
• First Newsletter Success: Thank you for your positive feedback on our first newsletter! Your support and enthusiasm motivate us to keep you informed and engaged with everything happening at the Felix Morley Community Center.
Facility Renovations and Updates
• Grounds Clearing: We’ve made significant progress in clearing the grounds for the soccer field and tennis court. This will provide our members with more space to engage in outdoor activities and enjoy the beautiful surroundings.
• Seating Area Repairs: Repairs are being carried out on the chairs in the seating area of the boxing gym to ensure comfort and safety for all spectators and participants.
• General Maintenance: Regular maintenance is ongoing to keep our facilities in top condition and ensure that everyone has a safe and pleasant experience when visiting the center.
