As we step into the heart of summer, we’re thrilled to share the latest updates, accomplishments, and heartfelt moments from the past quarter at the Felix Morley Community Center. Your continued support and involvement make everything we do possible.
Playground Completed - A Dream Realised!
We are overjoyed to announce that the Felix Morley Community Center Playground is completed awaiting the opening to the public! After months of planning, construction, and community input, the new playground is now a vibrant, safe, and inclusive space for children and families to enjoy.
The playground features:
• Modern, accessible play structures
• Slides for their enjoyment
• A soft, eco-friendly surface for safety
• Sensory-friendly zones
After opening, we will be everyon will be invited to come by and experience this wonderful new addition to our community!

A Close Call: Fire Incident on May 27th –(Gratitude
in Action)
On Tuesday, May 27th, our community center experienced a small but alarming fire incident. Thanks to the swift and professional response of the local fire department, the fire was quickly contained, and no injuries were reported.
The caused of the fire, which began on the nearby beach was not determined, however, thanks to the preparedness of our staff and the rapid intervention of emergency services, damage was minimal and operations resumed shortly after.
We are forever grateful to the brave firefighters who responded with urgency and care. Their dedication reminds us of the importance of community safety and preparedness. We are currently reviewing our safety protocols to ensure even greater resilience in the future.
Upcoming Events & Continued Programs
Here’s a sneak peek at what’s coming up this summer:
• Summer Camp (July 28th – 31st): A creative journey for kids aged 8-17. Limited spots available so please have the kids sign up once applications becomes available!
• Boxing, Karate, Jiu jitsu, Kids Football, ESOL Classes, Dance and Modelling continues from Monday to Fridays at the center.
• We have had our first phase of the ESOL Classes completed and participants along with their instructor are proud to display their certificates of achievement. Unfortunately, classes had to be placed on hold until further notice. We will inform you once we are ready to resume.

We’re always looking for volunteers, program ideas, and feedback. Whether you want to teach a class, help with events, or join our advisory board, your voice matters.
