An exemplum of delusive Educational Assistance:

DSWD s

As the Department of Social Welfare and Development (DSWD) ended its arduous process of online registration for educational assistance, students voiced their frustrations after their ineffectual struggle to have a chance at receiving the said aid from the government It was clear that DSWD opted to advise applicants to register online for a swift distribution of educational assistance to students in crisis

However, that might not be the case, as most of them complained about unsuccessful online applications Perhaps, being known as digital natives, DSWD has adapted this online registration system to speed up the process and provide accessibility for all Yet they failed to grasp the crux of the students' pons asinorum While it is inarguable how online processing of applications has made it possible for a cheaper alternative for walk-ins It does not guarantee one's eligibility for the said educational assistance

Automated or not, DSWD should have done better for the Filipino people, especially for the students in crisis who longed to receive aid from the government agency

Another point of argument why the agency did not accommodate walkin applications is to avoid the rise of COVID-19 cases, thus conceivably complying with the safety protocols in the country Nonetheless, even if the online forms provided are accessible, there is a frequency in their failure to respond Ergo, students were still forced to wait for hours to no avail It left the credit of DSWD obscured with their site's poor performance The online applicants who did not receive a single text message felt that the inconvenience they went through had been thwacked by denying them the help they needed and thereupon leaving them in an aggrieved state

hhh Taking everything into consideration, there is a conclusive desideratum for the higher-ups in the agency to work collectively in providing efficient solutions to rectify their blatant errors. In doing so, there might be another hope, but now, an antithesis to becoming an exemplum of delusive hopes.

hh Several of the students who did not secure assistance from DSWD are eligible. They are students who irrefutably can be considered students in crisis. Many sentiments have been raised, accentuating the program of the government agency to be anti-poor since most privileged students can easily access the online form they provided due to the availability of gadgets and stable Internet access Q

A Compelling Paradigm towards TRIUMPH AND EXCELLENCE

Wa oaae all come across a moment in which we anticipate aspirations in life. Life's manifestations, and how we iiiiiiiiiiiii catalyze them are vivid attestations to how we prompt our own journey and stepping stone to triumphantly prove and accumulate them dreams that are being manifested which we hope to happen at the desired time We are driven by instances that whatever life has to offer us we must keep pushing through In line with this, determination and perseverance must be highly considered traits

All successful individuals are big dreamers, and every successful professional start by visualizing eminence, and by holding on to strong driving forces which push them to fiercely thrive in order to make that vision possible. To get there where our dreams are being hoped is not and will never be undemanding—this should not be a newfangled matter. Working toward your objective does not entail working nonstop from morning until night. On top of that, we quickly start to lose motivation as a result of constant work. Hence, relaxing will benefit both our body and mind. So, take a brief break from your schedule and participate in other activities to accomplish this.

Moving on to the primary subject of this article. We define and enjoy success in many different ways depending on what way it satisfies us. Dr. Cherryl Ann. C Matela, Tagoloan Community College OIC President herself is the indubitable epitome of a well-deserved triumph. Success, according to her, firstly is being fulfilled. Doing work that is meaningful, and being valued, and recognized for relevant contribution. Next is having an opportunity for growth and to create an impact, as well as maintaining good health, of course. Achieving financial stability is another way how she defines success, and lastly, according to her, being successful means developing strong personal and professional relationships.

In addition, something that motivates her to work and pushes her to move forward during her worst times, and have the best on-the-job performance is taking her commitment highly regard because according to her, fulfilling obligations, and rendering quality work is something that satisfies her. Furthermore, she also has her own success habits which she shared along the interview.

First is to set goals because that is where everything starts. Next, we have to do the extra mile, meaning, we have to be willing to make a special effort to do or achieve something. Then, take action and practice appreciation because being appreciative means being grateful, and it encourages people to work hard and makes them feel valued.

Moreover, interpersonal relationship plays a huge role in achieving the things we aspire to since whatever kind of people we surround ourselves with, will eventually influence our motivation, and will somehow determine the path we are going to head in. According to Dr. Cheryl herself, there are two people in her life who inspired her to get where she is now —her parents. "They are no less than my parents—my mother and my father. Because, I would say that they are successful enough in their careers that even at the age when they retire, they still manage to continue working because of their dedication to work." She added. Eventually, to be a good leader and an influential professional, according to her, one must be kind and thoughtful. Must be an effective communicator and self-aware. Has integrity which setting a high moral towards the environment you are working in order to influence discipline. Must be emphatic since being a good leader means being able to affirm strong leadership. Lastly, one must be engaged, passionate, and ethical in every corner of his or her work.

In the last part of my interview with Dr. Cheryl, I asked her about some advice she could offer to someone who is starting to ponder his or her dream—especially to the students of Tagoloan Community College. According to her, in order to be able to reach that goal, to work hard and to possess the quality of persistence or tenacity must highly be taken into account. One must be determined that no matter what life circumstances and such we encounter, we must keep pushing through because we have to put something into possible. Importantly, one must be God-fearing.

WilliamA.Ward

Your dreams will be discussed and may somehow intrigued everyone in your life. Others will attempt to stop you, but some will provide insightful advice. Everybody aspires to achieve success at the right time and in all spheres of life. The greatest challenge that the majority of us endure, though, is our incapacity to persevere—in thought, approach, and action. The issue is not with us, rather, it is with our lack of good management of it. Even individuals who claim not to dream, nonetheless have dreams. Don't believe that your goals are unrealistic. Never let other people's ideas about what you want to achieve slow you down. Be patient above everything else and take things one step at a time. Nothing worthwhile ever comes easily.

Take this as a manifestation that a single thought can eventually turn into big opportunities, that someone who was once a dreamer can now attest to her welldeserved triumph. When you feel like quitting, think of why you started, and why should this aspiration betide into reality. Your opinion is the only one that matters. Remember this as you begin to pursue your dreams.

Anything youmayconceive ispossible. Youcanachieve anythingyoucan dreamof.

Encapsulatinglife modernaesthetic

The generation changes, and so as our life senses.

As the world revolves, we encounter different epochs that bring various progressions that open doors towards propitious trends that eventually influence how we perceive things in our lives

Living the life of today's era, we run into this so-called sense of "Aesthetic," which formally means the interest in something associated with the admiration of beauty which is most especially acknowledged in today's fashion trend

Reminiscing the past, we used to be fond of classic features that set one's sights on–Nokia phone, Bell-bottom/loose jeans, Corduroy, and old trends We see these traditional kinds of stuff before, worthy of admiration–because it suits people and the generation they were all in Today, the youngsters have repossessed this, most recognized in their possessions. However, people used to overhype this so-called "Aesthetic" to the extent where its quintessence is no longer held in high regard, "istitik" was its modern term

uence youngsters because cially in this current era

But, as a good image of today's generation, it is our privilege to be part of what our generation has to offer us, and respect must be the first thing to consider

Indeed, It is an honor to witness and be taken into what trends this current era has to present.

Given this modern generation, it is about time to think outside the box on how we relevantly incorporate aesthetics, where respect must be the most preeminent trend to go beyond its general sense Let us consider that modern aesthetic trends must draw a considerable impact not just today but, most notably, on what's waiting in the future In connection to this, we must also consider how gratifying it is to live in a world where everything is well respected and appreciated

Being the youth of today's era, it might not be our duty, but our initiatives to generate and value apposite trends will surely go a long way. Furthermore, we must not forget to put into our minds not to go beyond what must be, that whatever stuff this generation has to present, we should embrace and just let them be appreciated aptly

After all, the true essence of aesthetic is how we perceive things by offering significance and how we embody the sense ofawe-inspiringlife. Q

Academic dishonesty has been a rampant issue today, especially among students. An act of putting up someone else’s work as your own without sanctioned consent from the rightful owner is what is known as plagiarism. It is an unethical demeanor of a person to commit plagiarizing since it is a form of theft.

According to a poll by the Psychological Record, 36% of college students have admitted to copying written work 90% of students, according to a US News and World Reports survey, think that cheats are either never detected or are never given the proper punishment Moreover, plagiarism and distortion pose a significant threat to the legitimacy and integrity of the Philippine Judicial System, in addition to insulting the specific scholars whose work has been appropriated without proper acknowledgment

POLLFROMPSYCHOLOGICALRECORD

36% ofcollegestudents admittedtocopy writtenwork

and90%ofstudentshinkthatcheatsareeithernever detectedorarenevergiventheproperpunishment

Plagiarism is most commonly committed by students who want better grades but have poor time management skills and a propensity to put off doing the work until the last minute Academic dishonesty grows multiple folds yearly, and it is implausible to say that it can be resolved in just a snap This issue has been a severe matter for decades because of the growing student population However, as years go by, proficient individuals initiated to generate free tools in which students can channel their works to avoid plagiarism

Furthermore, there are facile ways in which students may consider avoiding plagiarism The first step is to help them develop their unique voice and competencies, notably in writing Instead of just copying what you see online, try to learn from the source and create something original If students are having trouble coming up with original ideas, they can avoid plagiarizing by paraphrasing the work of others and giving credit to the original author(s) in quotation marks and with proper citations Paraphrasing is a skill that every learner must acquire Rephrasing someone else’s words into your own makes your argument sound more authoritative and clear

Academic dishonesty cannot be eradicated in an instant However, this can be alleviated if everyone has the genuine drive to study and improve themselves This upcoming academic year, everyone is strongly encouraged to make an effort to be more aware of this particular problem and to make reparations for it so that it can be mitigated It is never impossible to solve this problem if everyone is willing to participate

Let us take into consideration how gratifying it is to produce original work that is free of any instances of plagiarism. Q

threaDRIFT TOWARDS t

The spread of aesthetic designs and craze venture plenty of attention partly from the millenials today Discover new things they'd find would suit them or even bestride as long to what they think is ultimately a trend

The inception of this what-so-called 'Pitik' has undeniably been extensive and popular At some point, it brings recognition to certain agendas prominent in events such as photoshoots, endorsements, and even school activities Therefore, photographers are taking benefits in this phase to boost their page engagement in any social media platform, perhaps Facebook as the commonly used one Street Photography, Disco Pitik, and another way around crossed the line by being insensitive Hence some were pleading with concerns about how it violates their privacy and safety

REPUBLIC ACT No. 11313:

An Act Defining Gender-Based Sexual Harassment in Streets, Public Spaces, Online, Workplaces, and Educational or Training Institutions, Providing Protective Measures and Prescribing Penalties

Therefore, the Safe Spaces Act or the Bawal Bastos Law penalizes all forms of gender-based sexual harassment in streets, public spaces, workplaces, schools, and online spaces. Henceforward, this serves as security to everyone considering that capturing photos without proper consent will be contemplated as a crime, for it stands as a subject in any discreditable activities It only brings discomfort to the victim/s, mental, emotional or psychological distress, and fear towards personal safety

15

Additionally, Congress enacted R A 9995, also known as (The anti-Photo and Video Voyeurism Act of 2009). This Republic Act is geared towards protecting a person's privacy, honor, dignity, and integrity As a matter of fact, Under Sec 3 of RA 9995, photo or video voyeurism means the act of taking a photo or video coverage of a person or group of persons performing a sexual act or any similar activity or of capturing an image of the private area of a person or persons without the latter's consent, under circumstances in which such person/s has/have a reasonable expectation of privacy.

Photogs must also drill in mind that choosing to publicize such things - displeasing and undesirable pictures, will not conceive as a subject of gratification but rather being humiliated Above all, we must be careful of what we post online and what we assent to and be cognizant of our environment. We are obliged to protect ourselves, especially women and children

REPUBLIC ACT No. 9995 PITIK

The fact that "Pitik" photographers are also enriching their skills, as well as accountable to managing in taking consent either at public places or even in any event as insightful on the laws pertaining in their field of works. Furthermore, these also uplift them in achieving successful endeavors ahead

Their existence plays an engaging role in our society in display with their skills and awe-inspiring snaps However, when they exceed someone's privacy and information at risk, it is no longer safe for us

16

CiiiOVID-19 has altered the way we live, work, and learn. The impact is visible in every aspect of our daily lives, and the transition appears to have occurred almost overnight

Life changes are significant and can result in a wide range of emotions and experiences Transitioning to a new normal necessitates adaptability and remaining open-minded

As a college student, skills are essential, and the right combination of “human + skills” also depends heavily on the learners and the stage at which they find themselves learning and gaining access to new modalities in order to survive with flying colors

The abrupt shift to distance learning directly challenged everyone’s knowledge, mindset, and skills, especially students. That ‘nice-to-have’ digital integration skills have become ‘must-haves,’ enabling us to adapt to the shape of this ‘new’ world on an ongoing basis

And, as the start of a new academic year approaches, we, students must brace ourselves for these abrupt and transient changes to take hold We need skills like media and technology literacy to keep up with the fast pace of today’s modern markets

Since computers, cloud computing, and mobile devices have become more prevalent globally, more people must learn about them As a result, students can more effectively adapt to the world and play an essential role in its evolution

As students, teachers, and institutions prepare for the next level, those with true adaptability, resilience, creativity, innovation, and agility will rise to the top and play a critical role in shaping the next generation. Q

EDITORYAL Kabuluhan ng buwan ng wika,

NAKALILIGTAANNANGABA?

Masakit mang isipin, ngunit

habang tumatagal, nagiging isang

malaking hamon para sa mga

kabataan na mahalin ang ating

sariling wika.

DEFF WORTH READING

When doubts outgrew instead of serenity

Is there a chance for me to sprout?

If to bloom means to uproot a lily, Would it help me escape from a drought?

I wonder why rain is not pouring anymore

Does it found another rose to hose?

The heat of the sun cause me great sore, Should I just endure the painful bruise?

Sometimes I thought my thorns are what makes me ill, But this is not enough for me to wilt

Or am I really the monster on hill

That must live on a place of silt?

My trenchant thorns are part of me, So bear with it or leave. I can be red as I should be, 'Cause that empowers me to long-live.
