In light of the array of academic challenges encountered, the studentry maintain a sense of optimism, triumphing over challenges and speeding past their perceived limitations. Believing in one’s own capabilities would make a huge change towards valiant excellence. That’s what I got from being part of this outstanding organization, where great minds emerge and aspire toward greatness. Of all the members of this organization, I am the only one who doesn’t have any experience in terms of journalism. Ever since, it has been my dream to be a journalist, a vanguard of truth and change. However, I was being eaten by my fears—fear of failing as a journalist, fear of making mistakes, and fear of being judged by others. Until I got here at TCC, I was invited to join TCC Quill, and I decided to grab Managing Editor the opportunity. I started as a newsthe writer oppin English, and who would’ve thought that this bunch of people would believe in me and put me in a position with big responsibility? They pushed me beyond my limits and inspired me to believe in my inner self. I also thought of resigning due to some significant personal reasons, but with these individuals, I gained the courage to continue. “With high honors goes to…” It’s always been like that. Ever since grade school up to Senior High School, my name is consistently listed as one of the top of our class. I felt privileged and honored at first but as I grew older the value of it changed—it became more like nothing. I never failed in my subjects and I almost became an arrogant self-centered human being. I cried over my grades for not surpassing the criteria of my standards and became greedy, I ate more than I could chew until I suffocated and lost the ability to become happy. Everyone is obsessed with the idea of succeeding in life, but once we never experienced failure we forget how to lose. We see success as the only possible outcome that is worth little because it is easily reached. When someone who wins all the time suddenly fails, an outburst of fear may occur but as time goes by it will become bearable. We can’t just totally wipe off our fear every time there’s a certain event occurring so instead of eliminating it, one should learn how to dance with it and make it as a compass to find oneself. Fear is all just a mere idea that our brain creates every time we try something new. It protects us from anything unhealthy and stops us from clasping opportunities.

Fear. Don't let it consume us. Once it devours our whole being, we begin to isolate ourselves. We will be stuck and stop growing holistically and worst is we’ll never learn. Learning is best through experience and mistakes. If we experience failing and suddenly winning afterward, we will not take it for granted. It will be worth more to us because we knew to ourselves that we tried.

A foot parade was first put into motion, followed by an opening ceremony, and was actively attended by 1,344 delegates coming from the different schools, namely Magsaysay College, Community College of Gingoog City, Salay Community College, Tagoloan Community College, Don Carlos Polytechnic College, Governor Alfonso D. "Tell me who your friends are,

and I'll tell you who you are." Marahil marami na sa atin ang nakarining sa katagang ito at marahil marami rin sa atin ang hindi sang ayon sa kung anuman ang mabigat nitong kahulugan. "Kaibigan" ito'y isang salita na may malaking ambag o mahalaga sa ating buhay lalong-lalo na sa pagtungtong natin sa kolehiyo. Sa kabilang banda, ito rin ang isang salita na magbibigay sa'tin ng malalim na hinuha kung kailan natin dapat putulin ang ugnayan na meron tayo sa kanila, o kung kailan natin dapat ilalayo ang ating mga sarili sa mga taong hindi na mabuti ang dulot sa ating buhay lalong-lalo na sa aspetong mental. Ngunit, paano nga ba natin haharapin ang mga presyur dulot ng pagkakaroon ng kaibigan sa ating buhay kolehiyo?

PILIING MABUTI ANG KAKAIBIGANIN Ang pagkakaroon ng kaibigan sa kolehiyo ay talaga namang nakakagaan sa pakiramdam dahil may makakasama tayo sa gala, may kakuwentuhan tayo, o kaya naman may kasama tayong kumain sa tanghalian. Subalit ang pakikipaghalubilo sa mga taong "toxic" ay walang magandang dulot sa ating mga sarili. Huwag sana tayong magbulag-bulagan at magbingi-bingihan sa mga bagay na kanilang sinasabi dahil ayon nga sa isang sikat na kataga, "Action speaks louder than words". Minsan talaga sa buhay, kung sino pa yung pinagkakatiwalaan natin, sila pa yung unang hihila sa'tin pababa. Matuto tayong pumili ng kakaibiganin natin dahil sa mundong kinabibilangan natin ngayon, hindi lahat ng kaibigan totoo, at hindi lahat ng totoo kaibigan.

BIGYAN NG ATENSYON KUNG ANO ANG NARARAMDAMAN Kung may parang mali sa isang sitwasyon, huwag natin itong baliwalain. Lahat ng emosyon natin ay tunay. Hindi biro ang maging estudyante sa kolehiyo dahil talagang makakaapekto ang kung sino ang at kung ano ang nakapaligid sa'tin. Ano nga ba ang tagumpay? Meron ba sa aspeto ng iyong buhay na masasabi mo’ng ika’y nagtagumpay? Kung oo, ano iyon? At kung meron, masasabi mo ba na mas mahirap ang iyong pinagdaanan kumpara sa iba? Kung sasabihin mong “Oo,” sa tingin mo ba naging madali rin sa kanila na lagpasan ang iba’t-ibang pagsubok na kanilang napag-tagumpayan para lang makarating sa tuktok? Kaibigan, mayaman man o mahirap, babae man o lalaki, bata man o matanda, iba-iba man ang ating opinyon ukol dito, masasabi natin na walang insaktong depinisyon kung ano nga ba talaga ang tagumpay. Lahat tayo ay may iba’t-ibang konsepto patungkol dito dahil hindi magkapareho ang ating buhay, at hindi magkapareho ang oras na ating hinintay at hagdan na ating inakyat upang makamit natin ang mga bagay na sa atin ay nararapat.

Nararapat lamang na ating malaman na ang buhay ay hindi palaging pabor sa atin. Hindi lahat ng gusto mo ay magiging iyo, at hindi lahat ng gusto ko ay magiging akin. Hindi ka nagkulang, hindi ka mali, at hindi ka huli—dahil hindi pa huli. May kasabihan nga tayo: “If it’s meant to be, it will be.” Kaya huwag tayong magmadali sa mga bagay-bagay na hindi “pa” para sa’tin dahil kung ating pilit na pinipilit, hindi masarap ang ating makakamit. Matuto tayong maghintay na may halong pagsisikap dahil kahit ano’ng ikot ng mundo, kung para sa’yo, ito’y magiging iyo.

MAGPAHINGA, PERO ‘WAG SUSUKO Kagaya ng nasabi kanina, walang maginhawa at simpleng paraan upang makamit natin ang ating gusto sa buhay.
