Student Senate February Update
by Alyssa Matney
During Interterm, Student Senate completed a budget review for the upcoming academic year. Student Senate is responsible for delegating student fee funds for the following accounts: Senate General, Special Requests, Contingency, Campus Building Project, SAB, Chapel, Java Jays, Intramurals, Class Fund, Club Fund, CMC, The View, MSU and SOCA. The budget review consisted of evaluating the current budget, analyzing the need and usage of funds and voting on the allocations of the budget.
Throughout the spring semester, Student Senate will have the following meetings: cares and concerns, club, campus improvements and special requests. These meetings are open to all students to share their voices. Our goal this upcoming spring semester is to contribute financially to campus projects to encourage a positive student experience on campus.
Toward the end of the spring semester, Student Senate will hold elections for the following positions for the 2021-2022 academic year: Student Senate President, Senior Class President and Vice President, Junior Class President and Vice President, and Sophomore Class President and Vice President.
We are always open to concerns, funding opportunities or ideas to improve the student experience on campus. If you are interested in contributing, please email studentsenate@tabor.edu.
