Welcome to Tabor College!

We are so glad you have chosen to be a part of the Bluejay family! Our mission at Tabor is to “Prepare people for a life of learning, work, and service for Christ and His Kingdom” and our Student Life staff is committed to walking alongside and equipping you as you fulfill your calling.

This resource guide is just a glimpse of life here on our campus. However, our people employed at Tabor are your biggest assets in helping you. Whether it is student life, coaches, faculty or staff, we are all here to help make your college experience the very best it can be.

Please get involved in the many activities that are offered on campus. These include the performances in fine arts, clubs, organizations, athletic events, student leadership, campus ministries, and many others. There is a place for everyone and my prayer is that you will find the place that you can best serve, grow and make your impact felt on our campus. Most of all, I hope you will look for opportunities to grow in your faith and answer the call that God has for you.

Move-In Information Fall Athlete Welcome Week Orientation

Orientation for parents has become one of the more popular and appreciated fall events on the Tabor College campus. This is your opportunity to visit campus and see where your son or daughter will spend the year. Several events, with a focus on parents, will be provided to inform parents about various aspects of Tabor College.

What happens during New Student Orientation Weekend?

Freshmen: During the weekend, you will get to know your O-Group, do a service project, attend orientation sessions, confirm classes, and complete financial settlement. But most of all, it will be a fun time! This weekend is full of activities to engage learning, promote service to others, encourage involvement, and assist the transition to college.

In order to help you make the transition to Tabor, there are orientation activities and sessions designed specifically for transfers.

4. Support your peers in their extracurricular activities. Nearly all of our students are involved in something on campus whether it is athletics, fine arts, Student Senate, and so much more. Get out there and cheer them on in the things your friends are passionate about on campus! Student Success can help with this.

Tutoring Center

Available for students in the lower level of the Lohrenz. Tutoring is a free service available for all Tabor Students and is provided through peer tutors. Registration for tutoring is required. Additional times and information are located in the Student Success Office. Questions can be sent to studentsuccess@tabor.edu.

Disability Services

If you are a student who has a disability or situation that requires academic accommodations, you can contact Student Success directly and provide necessary documentation of disability. Student Success will work with you to identify needed accommodations.

Career Services Tabor College’s Career Services department offers a variety of services for students.

This includes assisting students with developing personal marketing materials, strengthening job-search skills, exploring available career paths, and learning about graduate school options.

In addition to these services, Career Services also facilitates a variety of events throughout the school year. These events include:

On-Campus Job Fair

This event provides students an opportunity to learn about and network with the available part-time positions on campus.

Majors Fair

Juniors and seniors from various departments speak to the freshmen class about their unique experiences in their majors. Freshmen then have the opportunity to meet with different professors to hear about specific majors they may be interested in studying. Major(s) and minor(s) are declared at this time.

Teacher Interview Day

Tabor College partners with six other KCAC schools to facilitate Teacher Interview Day. Over 40 school districts from all over Kansas participate and interview students for their open teaching positions.

Resume & Interview Workshops

All students are invited to participate in these sessions that occur multiple times during the spring semester to develop student’s skills and knowledge related to applying for full-time jobs, part-time jobs, and internships.

Tabor College email is Google-based and can be added to a Gmail app on students' phones. It is key for student success that Tabor's email is accessible and checked frequently for events on campus, class updates, and other important information.

iAttended

This app is used for attendance in a variety of locations on campus throughout the year. It is important to set up your iAttended login information using your Tabor email address and your full name to ensure that attendance credits are given to the correct person. CSC Pay

This app is necessary for students to take advantage of the FREE wash and dry laundry services that Tabor has to offer as a part of the All Inclusive Pricing. This app will allow your phone to connect with washers and dryers on campus, to start loads, know which machines are being used and to alert you when your laundry is done. Performing Arts Tabor has a strong tradition of choral, instrumental and theatre. In 2017 the Shari Flaming Center for the Arts was finished. This new space houses the Richert Auditorium, Prieb Harder Black Box Theatre, as well as numerous class rooms, studios and event space.

Regularly, Tabor hosts concerts, theatre productions or other types of entertainment.

Spiritual Life Spiritual Formation and Community Life is more than a program. It is a way of living! Our Spiritual Formation programs are designed to cultivate an environment for spiritual growth on our campus. The primary way we promote this is through regularly scheduled chapels each week. Spiritual Formation also oversees small groups and coordinates with departments for missions opportunities.

Tabor College holds chapel weekly on Mondays and Wednesdays where staff, faculty and students come together to worship, hear God’s Word and connect to one another.

Small Groups

Bible studies, discipleship groups and student led ministries are also available at various times throughout the week and at various locations on campus. Small group ministries are a place where students can connect and grow as they learn how to follow God together.

Global Outreach

Students will have the opportunity to travel to a foreign country to work alongside missionaries and church planters to minister in those communities. In May 2023, we are tentatively planning a trip to Niger, Africa. Other countries that students have traveled to in the past include France, Thailand, Guatemala & Peru.

Parking Tabor provides free parking here on campus for student vehicles that have both registered and display a current Tabor parking decal. We ask that you park in non designated parking spaces only and not in handicapped (unless proper credentials are displayed), red fire lanes, yellow loading zones or spaces otherwise designated for a specific use. If your vehicle is parked in a location it should not be, there will be a citation issued and fines added to your student account and you will be notified by email. Vehicle registration is done during orientation week as well as throughout the academic year in Student Life. You will need to provide proof of current vehicle insurance, license plate number, color make and model of your vehicle when registering. If you change vehicles during the year it is the students responsibility to update all the registration information with Student Life.
