Shore Legal Access (SLA) is a Maryland nonprofit connecting Eastern Shore individuals and families in need of legal representation with volunteer attorneys to ensure that justice truly is for all. Shore Legal Access makes the law accessible to Eastern Shore residents facing challenges in civil legal matters, including family law, life and estate planning, consumer debt, landlord/tenant matters, and criminal record expungement. Its staff and volunteer attorneys empower individuals and families to resolve legal issues while helping those new to the law understand their role in advocating for their individual rights and responsibilities Clients of Shore Legal Access walk away with an attorney in their corner, connections to community services, and a new perspective on the law.
Job Summary
Shore Legal Access (SLA) seeks a personable, proactive, and compassionate Life Planning Case Manager and Community Outreach Coordinator (Lower Shore) to join our dynamic team. The Life Planning Case Manager is a central point of contact for new clients and plays a crucial role in connecting clients with the life and estate planning assistance they need, including obtaining wills, powers of attorney, and medical directives. This position entails coordinating monthly clinics with volunteer attorneys and working with community partners to raise awareness about SLA’s life and estate planning services. Additionally, you’ll cultivate strategic partnerships through community outreach activities, including tabling at community events and providing informational presentations about SLA’s services to deepen connections between SLA and the people we serve. This position is based in SLA’s Salisbury Office. The annual salary range for this position is $44,625-$47,250. SLA offers opportunities for cross-training and advancement, a flexible, hybrid work environment and a robust package of employee benefits including generous paid time off, employer covered health, vision, and dental insurance, long-term and short-term disability, and matching funds for retirement savings plans.

In partnership with Cross-Cultural Communications, we are offering a 40-hour qualified online community interpreter training in a self-paced instructor-moderated format. This course promotes national ethics and standards of practice in the field and can prepare interpreters to take national interpreter certification.

IECC requires a Math/Reading assessment to ensure the applicant has the necessary foundation to complete the program You must pass both of these assessments to be admitted into the program.
After you complete the Math/Reading assessment, you will interview with a member of the Apprenticeship Committee This interview is meant for committee members to evaluate your commitment to the program, and the industry.
Once you have completed all the above steps, you will be informed of your enrollment decision. If you are accepted into the program, refer to our Current Student FAQ for additional information If you are not accepted into the program for any reason, you will be given the opportunity to requalify at the discretion of the Apprenticeship Committee
