A Special Message from

Rabbi Amy L. Morrison

In Parshat Matot-Mas-ei, Matot-Mas-ei, our ancestors stand at a moment of transition. They look back at every place they have traveled and prepare to cross into a new future together.

Their journey reminds us that Judaism has never been about walking walking alone. It has always been about creating a community where every person has a place, every voice matters, and every step forward is taken together.

Each Shabbat, we experience that gift when we gather at Temple Beth-El. In our sanctuary, we find comfort, friendship, prayer, music, and hope. We are reminded that we belong to one another. Yet the holiness we create together is not meant to remain within our walls. It is meant to accompany us into the world.

When we check on a neighbor, welcome a new family, volunteer at a food pantry, stand with someone facing injustice, or simply offer kindness to a stranger, we extend the sacred community we build each week. These moments become living expressions of our Jewish values and show that every act of compassion has the power to transform lives.
