Director’s Message

“Although 2020 - 2021 was not the journey we anticipated or expected, it’s one we navagated and conquered, together.”

Our journey over the 2020-21 school year has been a winding path filled with successes and accomplishments. Like any journey, challenges have arisen, which at times have felt daunting and have also brought sadness.

Tom Mustapic, our Business Consultant and Loretta Fonso, our Board Vice-Chair and retired TBCDSB teacher, fell asleep in the arms of Jesus during the course of the year. Tom and Loretta’s passing has left a void within our Board community and our city. I will forever cherish Tom’s wisdom, counsel and friendship and I will always hold Loretta’s charisma, wit and joy close to my heart. This Director’s Report is dedicated to their memory and their work within our Board. Words can never truly express how deeply these two people impacted my own life and the lives of their colleagues, our students and alumni.

Although 2020 - 2021 was not the journey we anticipated or expected, it’s one we navigated and conquered, together. We have remained positive, compassionate and steadfast and it’s because of our students, our staff and our families that we continue to persevere.
