Escape to the iconic and deeply glamorous island paradise of Eden Rock - St Barths

Guests of the legendary Caribbean island, which recently underwent an extensive two-year renovation, will delight in the new island spa concept, the Eden Spa, as well as indulging in the irresistible culinary offerings at The Sand Bar Perched on a rocky promontory on St Jean Bay and surrounded by white sandy beaches and clear blue sea, Eden Rock – St Barths, part of the prestigious Oetker Collection, is undoubtedly one of the most iconic hotels in the Caribbean. At the epicentre of the island, the resort is still fresh from an extensive two-year renovation which was unveiled following the impact of Hurricane Irma in late 2017. Guests can discover the legendary hotel’s new look, which includes new rooms and suites, a new bar and restaurant and, completed in late 2020, three additional signature suites and a brand-new spa concept. Owner, Jane Matthews was central within the Design Group, which includes the hugely talented Martin Brudnizki Design Studio London and Architectonik St Barths. The group redesigned and refurbished the entire property with a fresh look and feel, while preserving the heritage and

incomparable atmosphere for which Eden Rock is loved. Jane Matthews has also expanded her art collection within the property and introduced guests to wonderful new talents via the New York Academy of Art. Foodie enthusiasts can while away the hours at the Sand Bar, which serves as the gastronomic heart of the hotel. The menu remains in the hands of culinary maestro, Jean-Georges Vongerichten, inspired by ABC & Jojo restaurants and ABCV concept – one of New York’s favourite dining concepts for healthy eating widely appreciated by foodies. Focusing on minimising food waste and sustainability, the use of local produce and fresh fish caught daily is a focus, ensuring a delicious, yet environmentally conscious menu is available. The Rémy Salon and Bar is named after Eden Rock’s original owner, paying tribute to his pioneering spirit. The sun deck of the Eden Rock Beach Bar is the perfect spot to soak up the sunshine with a frosé in hand, and past the Sand Bar, guests can browse the super stylish and newly expanded, elegant Eden Being Boutique, stocked with the latest designs and high fashion. For guests looking to truly unwind, the new Eden Spa takes residence inside the top of ‘The Rock’, right where the Caribbean legend began. The décor is a ‘yacht-on-land’ theme and treatments are by acclaimed local artisanal brand Ligne St Barth, creators of natural, sun-drenched products manufactured exclusively on the island, using only natural ingredients including frangipani flower, melon, sugar cane and mango butter. A beach cabana is also available, where guests can take advantage of Eden Rock’s ‘Sun Spa’ by Esthederm right on the beach with dedicated treatments for before and after sun exposure. Eden Rock – St Barths reveals its brand new two suites Both entirely new, the Jane and the Pippa Suites are built high on the legendary Rock and all sited centrally on the fabulous beach of St Jean... The Signature Suite ‘Jane’ Was designed from the notion of ‘a Superyacht on Land’. That is, it doesn’t rock and roll like a yacht (“not to everyone’s taste”) but nevertheless remains fully surrounded by the ocean it looks down onto. The new Suite Jane is built high on the Rock with private terraces looking across the most breathtaking views of

reefs and coral sand and the lovely and lively Beach of St Jean. Interiors are elegant and hopefully a little unconventional. Walls are in superb wood panelling showcasing both fabulously skilled French handmade cabinet making, plus some local island artisanal workmanship too. The furniture features striking mixes of colours and textures whilst the ceiling materials are various and in natural tones. The extra large super bed offers exquisite views over the coral sand beach and the island of St Barths beyond. A stunning ensuite bathroom beckons close by in delicate rare pink marble and it’s lovely detailing. Furthermore, well bound books to art preside. The Jane includes a delightful little garden terrace and jacuzzi pool... a perfect space for the enjoyment of a glass of something chilled, sometime after-dark. The Signature Suite ‘Pippa’ Designed from the notion “a Superyacht on Land” Pippa Suite is an ultraluxe cabin on a world class superyacht but one which doesn’t roll around yet still is surrounded by the beautiful turquoise colored ocean it has the joy of looking down upon. Atop the legendary rock at Eden, the newly built Suite is sited centrally on the fabulous beach of St Jean offering unparalleled views of the bay, the reefs, and the island and it’s surrounding ocean. The Pippa is an enchanting duplex single-bedroom featuring cabinet making craftmanship and curved walls of elegant and precious wood. The work was accomplished by Champs in Normandy. The huge and handmade bed affords ocean contemplation… and this whilst the stunning ensuite double shower bathroom nearby reveals itself to be made of precious pink marble… and so very much more. In particular, this perfectly lovely Suite features a rare and hard to fabricate wooden tubed spiral staircase dropping down through the bedroom floor to its second level terrace sun deck below. This complete with a heated cave pool chipped back into the very rock and finally all is partnered with a peaceful place of meditation or introspection or even a little yoga or pilates. Rates at the new look Eden Rock - St Barths start from €900 per night, breakfast included, + 5% local taxes.
