U.S. Consulate Rio de Janeiro, Brazil
Proposed to be located in Rio de Janeiro by the U.S. State Department, this consulate will be a precast building to provide the maximum security. This design allows for a high amount of natural light in order to increase employees’ productivity and health. The color coded way-finding creates an overall organization and positive moods throughout the building. The south facade of the building is twisting to true south in order to provide a perfect view of the famous Cristo Redentor for the consular and to maximize the buildable site area. This project was materialized by Page Cross and Taylor Shank, while being funded and guided by Georgia/Carolinas PCI, KCCT firm in Washington D.C., and the U.S. State Department.

Figure Ground Study Damascus, Syria
Anthropomorphic and Fragments Diagram Studying the figure grounds of Damascus reveals that there is a growth pattern of the city that has created an anthropomorphic form with the crown of the head directed east.
The Neck Fragment 2 is the neck of the anthropomorphic form and is the gateway between Old and New Damascus. It shows the rapid transition of building footprints from a grid structure to more organic pattern.
Chronological Map The traditional of patterned growth of the city is a central nucleus (Old Damascus) then branching northwest, towards the mountains, and then south, along the river. The river impacted the social order of the city due to flooding and pebbles being left post flood. New Damascus was placed between Old Damascus and the mountains and while along the river. Old Damascus maintained its form throughout all time periods including present day.
The South Leg Fragment 1 is the leg of the anthropomorphic form. It is the growth from New Damascus which suggest of a second nucleus of New Damascus to form with future development of the city.

The South Arm Fragment 3 is the first neighborhood outside of the medieval city wall. This area is called Pebbles due to it being in the flood plain and pebbles would collect on the ground. This fragment is the South arm of the anthropomorphic form, it shows the southern growth along the river.
Genova Port Crane Museum Genova, Italy
Located in the port of Genoa, Italy, this design is a museum for the history of port cranes. The building mass is the form of the three major stages of development of cranes and the motion that those cranes created in use. The tallest part of the building is a symbolic gate into the port welcoming those entering via sea.
