Tavarus Blackmon also known by the Anglo-Saxon, Blackmonster, is a devoted, Black, Father and Partner with three children in, Sacramento, California. He earned his MFA as Provost Fellow at the University of California Davis and his MA in Studio Art at CSU, Sacramento. He has been under Fellowship at the Headlands Center for the Arts and a Parent Artist Fellow at the Kala Art Institute. He was the recipient of the 2020-2021 Kala Art Institute Fellowship and the Pilot Curatorial Fellowship at Root Division. He was the winter, 2021, AiR at Caldera Arts in Sisters, OR. His practice is interdisciplinary and intermedium.
Blackmon is an educator in the CSU system, instructing in Painting and Drawing and Digital Art and has been a Panelist for the Ca Arts Council and a Community Advisor to the Sacramento Office of Arts an Culture. Currently they serve on the Board of Directors as Chair of the Diversity Equity and Inclusion Committee at Root Division, a wage certified Non-Profit Art Center in the Mission District in San Francisco, CA; he is also a member of the Curatorial Committee. Blackmon has also been named a Charter Member of the UC Davis Art and Art History Advisory Board. And, has placed artist in the Artist Pool for UC Davis Health, working directly with Beth Jones Consulting as a broker.

Blackmon uses traditional methods: drawing and painting, and electronic tools to create work. They’re use of color is intense and concepts of domesticity and family life inform their practice. EJ Cord is a California native. They earned their Bachelor’s of Fine Art, in Studio Art, at California State University, Sacramento. They have exhibited in the CSUS Alumni Exhibition, the California State Fair, Fine Arts Competition, the Sacramento Fine Art Center’s, Bold Expressions exhibit and held the solo exhibition, See You in the Morning, in the Witt Gallery at CSUS. They have participated in Panel discussions concurrent to exhibitions and have exhibited at Axis Gallery and Verge Center for the Arts. A natural educator, they also hold a degree in Early Childhood Education and enjoy working with children in the community as they believe strongly in Art and creativity as powerful tools for learning. They are Partner of Tavarus Blackmon Art LLC and an associate of Blackmonster Music
EJ CORD Art
Tavarus Blackmonster is a survivor of a self-inflicted puncture wound to their left ventricle. Undergoing Open-Heart surgery at twenty-years old at UC Davis Medical Center, they fought to have a life and earned the Provost Fellowship at UC Davis seventeen years later. After completing their MFA in Studio Art, they began instructing in the Art Department at CSU Sacramento. Blackmonster was once hospitalized across the street from CSUS at Sutter Psychiatric Hospital. Blackmonster also holds a BA in Film and an MA in Studio Art from CSUS. They instruct courses in Drawing and Painting within the Art Department.
Blackmonster is focused on Family. Blackmonster is focussed on Work. The work of the Father is to take care of the Family by any means. For Blackmonster, the means are Artistic and formal. Without a doubt, Blackmonster is confident in their work and Art Practice. Blackmonster Animated Digi-Art has been developed to share their work with a global market, connect directly with collectors, expand their ecosystem and community and provide on-chain provenance for their tokenized collectables.
E J Cord is a punk-sub-cultural thinker, Mother, Artist and critical thinker. Having studied Art in the Greater Bay Area they went on to earn their BFA in Studio Art, defying odds and returning to complete their degree after the birth of three children. EJ Cord is a survivor of familial trauma and suicide. This struggle has created a thoughtful and compassionate Artist.
As an educator, EJ Cord holds degrees in Studio Art and Early Childhood Education. They are the care provider and educator for three children, one of whom is disabled, and have a an active Studio Art practice.
Blackmonster Animated Digi-Art is created by Partner’s Tavarus Blackmonster and EJ Cord. The DApp is intended to be both a repository for the Blackmonster Family Trust Tokenized Assets and a marketplace for the trade, transfer and sale of digital collectables (NFTs).
Blackmonster believes intently in the nature of PLAY and the nature of Competition. As a Digital Native, Blackmonster and Cord are adopters of Web3, trustlesness, permissionless-ness and digital sovereignty, provenance, authenticity and ownership.
With the nature of PLAY in mind, the work of Blackmonster is feverish, obsessive and compulsive. This is combined with their formal training. The result is the work. Work from Blackmonster’s digital archive have been tokenized on-chain. Blackmonster is competing with Global Artists in a freely tradable, P2P, decentralized network. Tavarus Blackmon also known by the Anglo-Saxon, Blackmonster, is a devoted, Black, Father and Partner with three children in, Sacramento, California. He earned his MFA as Provost Fellow at the University of California Davis and his MA in Studio Art at CSU, Sacramento. He has been under Fellowship at the Headlands Center for the Arts and a Parent Artist Fellow at the Kala Art Institute. His was the recipient of the 2020-2021 Kala Art Institute Fellowship and the Pilot Curatorial Fellowship at Root Division. He was the winter, 2021, AiR at Caldera Arts in Sisters, OR. His practice is interdisciplinary and intermedium.
Blackmon is an educator in the CSU system, instructing in Painting and Drawing and Digital Art and has been a Panelist for the Ca Arts Council and a Community Advisor to the Sacramento Office of Arts an Culture. Currently they serve on the Board of Directors as Chair of the Diversity Equity and Inclusion Committee at Root Division, a wage certified Non-Profit Art Center in the Mission District in San Francisco, CA; he is also a member of the Curatorial Committee. Blackmon has also been named a Charter Member of the UC Davis Art and Art History Advisory Board. And, has placed artists in the Artist Pool for UC Davis Health, working directly with Beth Jones Consulting as a broker.

And he is also a creative coder, developing websites since 2012 and currently part of the web3 ecosystem and Community at Rarible as -blackmonster-. Blackmon uses traditional methods, drawing and painting, and electronic tools to create work. They’re use of color and concepts of domesticity and family life inform his practice. And as an educator, they appreciate the work of their students and find inspiration on the enumerable ways individuals can create artwork and see the world around themself.
