This large, freshwater pond is located in the middle of a forest within Thailand’s last low plain. Its distinct characteristic is the beautiful green water that changes to various shades throughout the day as light changes. The area is cooled by shadows of tall trees, making it an ideal place to enjoy a dip or swim. Visitors can enjoy a trek perfect for studying the various types of plants and bird species. In fact, the area is a bird watcher’s paradise as some exceptionally rare birds are found here, including the Gurney’s Pitta which has not been spotted anywhere else in Thailand.

The Blue Pool a natural wonder 10

Amazing natural wonder which happens to be the source where the Emerald Pool originates. The Blue Pool, with its clear turquoise water, is rich in minerals from sediments of the sandstone mountain. Water in the Blue Pool is formed by underground water seeping up from cracks in the ground that resembles the appearance of boiling water. When hands are clapped together, the sound would create an echo and cause the water to seep up in a rhythm according to the clapping sound.

Tha Pom, a two-water canal, is the fusion of fresh water from beneath the earth and sea water from The Andaman, resulting in water that is naturally rich in minerals. One of its unique characteristics is the constant change of color that is determined by the rising and falling of the tide. In addition, Tha Pom has an amazing ecological system as it is the meeting point of three types of forests including the mangrove forest, swamp and peat swamp forest.

This lake located in the midst of winding Sandstone Mountains.

Highlights include bamboo rafting, sipping tea and sampling local delicacies, listening to live music that narrates stories of local life, watching the golden sunrise and be amazed by fallen flowers of the fresh water mangrove trees that cover the ground like red velvet carpet. ลื่นไถลกับสไลเดอรแบบบ านๆ ์ ้

Klong Root a fun super slide

หรูด เป็นภาษาใต้ แปลว่า ลื่นไถล หรือ สไลด์ แรกเริ่มคลองหรูดเป็นคลองสาธารณะ ชื่อว่าคลองหนองทะเล ในอดีตเนื่องจากชาวบ้าน แถวนั้นประสบปัญหาขาดแคลนน�้ำ จึงมีการสร้างฝายชะลอน�้ำ เทคอนกรีตลาดเอียง เพื่อ กักเก็บน�้ำให้ชุมชน ต่อมาตะไคร่น�้ำเริ่มเกาะฝายจนเกิดพื้นผนังลื่น เด็กๆ ในละแวกนั้น พากันมาเล่นน�้ำโดยใช้ที่ลาดเอียงเป็นสไลเดอร์ เป็นที่มาของค�ำว่า คลองหรูด ด้วยน�้ำใส ไหลเย็น และธรรมชาติที่สมบูรณ์ ร่มรื่น จึงมีอีกหนึ่งกิจกรรมตามมาคือพายเรือคยัคชม ธรรมชาติ จึงเป็นแหล่งท่องเที่ยวที่ผู้ใหญ่เที่ยวได้เด็กก็เที่ยวดี ชุมชนเรือคยัค บ้านแหลมสอม 083 641 0038

Originally, Klong Root was a public canal which goes by the name Klong Nong Thale. Back then, local villagers were suffering from water shortage so a check dam made of slanted concrete was built to slow down the current. After a while, green algae began to cover the concrete surface, transforming the dam into a giant slide. Children living in the area would enjoy swimming and gliding down the dam like a slippery. And because of the cool, clear water and fertile surrounding, an activity popularly enjoyed here by kids and adults alike is kayaking.

Namta Nak (Tears of Naga) a sacred pond 32

The area on top Khao Ngon Nak Mountain is believed to be the habitat of the Naga Serpent. Naturally, attractions nearby are all related to this mythical creature- from Khao Ngon Nak (Naga Crest Mountain), Sadue Nak (Naga’s belly button), Laem Hang Nak (Naga’s tail) and Namta Nak (Naga’s tears). Namta Nak is actually a small pond with water flowing year-round. And the locals believes that those who drink or sprinkle this water while making a wish, their wish would come true.
