TASIS is a family of international schools that welcomes young people from all nationalities to an educational community which fosters a passion for excellence along with mutual respect and understanding. Consistent with the vision of its founder, M. Crist Fleming, TASIS is committed to transmitting the heritage of Western Civilization and world cultures: the creations, achievements, traditions, and ideals from the past that offer purpose in the present and hope for the future. Seeking to balance the pursuit of knowledge with the love of wisdom, and promoting the skills of lifelong learning, an appreciation for beauty, and the development of character, each school combines a challenging academic program with opportunities for artistic endeavor, physical activity, and service to others.
Founded in 2002, The TASIS School in Dorado is affiliated with the American School in Switzerland (TASIS) and is sponsored by the Federico and Priscilla Stubbe Foundation, a notfor-profit Puerto Rican Corporation. TASIS Dorado is located in Dorado, Puerto Rico, and is an independent, non-sectarian, coeducational, not-for-profit, college-preparatory day school where English is the primary language of instruction while also actively promoting the mastery of multiple languages from PPK to Grade Twelve.
TASIS Dorado challenges and nurtures students to pursue academic and personal excellence so that they become engaged global citizens and innovative, selfless leaders.
TASIS Dorado aspires to be a world-class school that transforms students’ lives through the love of learning, beauty, truth, goodness and wisdom.
TASIS Dorado instills in its students the values of courage, kindness, integrity, humility and a commitment to building community.
The TASIS School in Dorado is licensed as a private school by the pertinent governmental licensing agency, the “Consejo General de Educación de Puerto Rico.” It is also accredited by the Middle States Association of College and Schools and by the “Comisión Acreditadora de Instituciónes Educativas” (CADIE). The TASIS School in Dorado admits students of any race, color, national origin, and ethnic origin to all the rights, privileges, programs, and activities generally accorded or made available to students at the school. It does not discriminate on the basis of race, color, national origin, and ethnic origin in administration of its educational policies, admission policies, scholarship and loan programs, and athletic and other school-administered programs.
CLASS OF 2020
Eva Natalia Soler Cruz ’20 graduated from Columbia University with a Bachelor of Science in Biomedical Engineering, concentrating in Genomics. During her time at TASIS Dorado, she served as President of the Student Council, competed on the Science Bowl Team, was a student-athlete on the volleyball team, and pursued her passion for music as a pianist. She graduated as a Class Scholar and was honored with the Priscilla González Stubbe Leadership Award. Eva returns to TASIS Dorado as a proud alumna and guest speaker for the Class of 2025 Graduation Ceremony.
At Columbia, Eva was actively involved in the Society of Hispanic Professional Engineers (SHPE), serving as a dedicated member for four years and as President in her final year, focusing on strengthening connections between the STEM professional world and the Hispanic community. She also conducted research in two prominent labs: the Danino Lab, which specializes in engineering bacterial therapeutics, and the Azizi Lab, a computational oncology laboratory.
These formative experiences prepared her to contribute to impactful projects at NASA and Regeneron Pharmaceuticals and to present her work at national conferences. Her commitment to biomedical research, leadership in STEM outreach initiatives for minority students in New York City, and dedication to the Hispanic community was recognized at the Columbia graduation with the Claire S. and Robert E. Reiss Prize, a recognition given by the faculty of the program to the graduating senior as most likely to contribute substantially to the field.
Eva is currently an Associate Scientist at Regeneron Pharmaceuticals in New York, working in the Protein Expression Sciences department. As part of the Technology Development team, she focuses on developing novel methods to advance the discovery of therapeutic antibodies targeting metabolic and infectious diseases, with the goal of translating science into medicines that will hopefully reach patients.
