EDUCATIONAL EXCHANGE 2024 WE THANK OUR GUEST AND HOST FAMILIES
OUR STUDENTS The French classes participated in three enriching activities. The first was at the French movie festival at Caribbean Cinemas Fine Arts in Miramar and enjoyed the movie "La Traversée" by Florence Miailhe, a story about global challenges such as war, immigration and exile. The second activity was a Food Festival to celebrate National French Week. The third activity was the Franco-Italian Day a rendez-vous of pétanque or bocce, soccer and tennis. In addition, our students participated in the Media Contest, Creative Writing Contest and in March the French and Italian Contest will be administered. The students in AP will visit the UPRRP next week to meet and talk to the Humanities Dean, Dra. Agnes Bosh Irizarry, and the Foreign Language Department Director, Dra María (Lolita) Villlanúa Vega along with her students and other professors.

FRENCH AND ITALIAN CONTESTS This year, in March 2024, we will administrate the two National Exams, a national language contest among high school students in the USA.

THE PUERTO RICAN DOWN SYNDROME FOUNDATION (FPSD) HAS BEGUN THE TRADITIONAL SALE OF T-SHIRTS FOR WORLD DOWN SYNDROME DAY. UNDER THE MOTTO: DISCOVER MY TALENTS AND YOU WILL BE SURPRISED, THE ENTITY HOPES TO RAISE FUNDS TO INCREASE SPONSORSHIP OF THERAPIES FOR PEOPLE OF ALL AGES WITH DS AND WHO DO NOT HAVE SUFFICIENT FINANCIAL RESOURCES TO PAY FOR THE SERVICE.
We thank the TASIS Dorado administration for supporting our students and Department throughout the year. To Deborah Monroe and Sara Hernández for supporting the Educational Exchange Program and making possible all our Department activities: Franco-Italian Day, Culinary workshop, French and Italian Sports Day, French movie festival at Caribbean Cinemas Fine Arts in Miramar and other Field trips, to Henry Miranda and Victor Cruz for their continuing technical projections, and sound support in particular during the Studio recording, to Félix Cotto for welcoming us during rehearsals and management of the PAC, to Mónica Kuilan for her help in the copy room, to Axel Carrasquillo for his time offering a Mandala class and to Alberto Chiecchio for inviting the exchange students to join the STEM club activity, and lastly but not least, to all the host families of the Exchange Program for their support and confidence in the program and to the students and chaperones from Duruy, thank you for accepting our invitation and attending our event.
