A LETTER FROM OUR FOUNDER
Dear Safari Friends, We are delighted to introduce our inspiring Tasimba Signature Safari. From October 28th to November 4th, 2022 we will immerse you, mind, body and soul, in the trip of your lifetime. From my years of experience of countless safaris while growing up and living in Africa, we have learned that the five essential components of a great safari are: real wilderness, prolific wildlife, a superb camp, Africa's best guides and flawless planning. Tasimba has all of these and so much more. We have combined the very best safari qualities and our own unique features into one extraordinary week. We are proud to present what our guests describe as the most thoughtfully curated and superbly executed safari experience anywhere. At Tasimba, we don't just book your safari and then send you off to Africa on your own. Heather Weaver and I, as your co-hosts, are with you 24/7. We bring our passion for wildlife and our attention to every last detail so that your entire safari experience will be safe, stress-free and truly unforgettable. We look forward to welcoming you to Tas 1/

MOSI-OA-TUNYA - 'THE SMOKE THAT THUNDERS'
Our Tasimba Signature Safari starts at Victoria Falls, Zimbabwe - the world's greatest waterfall! Victoria Falls, over a mile wide and 350 feet deep, is the world's largest sheet of falling water and earns its rightful place as one of the Seven Natural Wonders of the World. It is truly spectacular! The local Lozi people have always known the Falls as Mosi-oa-Tunya, 'the smoke that thunders'. This is because the mist rises above the Falls up to 1,500 feet and the thunderous sound can be heard for miles around. The Falls are a magnificent sight all year round. The Main Falls and Devil's Cataract are especially breathtaking in October and November. For a once in-a-lifetime experience, this is also the time of year to enjoy a dip in Devil's Pool that is perched literally at the very edge of the drop! Victoria Falls offers you a wide array of many wonderful activities ranging from a romantic sunset cruise on the river above the Falls to adrenaline pumping bungee jumping or whitewater rafting in the gorge. Or you could just enjoy a lazy afternoon wandering the many craft shops or relaxing by the pool at your hotel in the warm Zimbabwean sun. We're happy to arrange any activities you choose to make your stay here more enjoyable!

LUXURY IN THE BUSH
Linkwasha, meaning 'elephant paths', is the camp we specially selected for this Tasimba Signature Safari. It is the most luxurious safari camp in Hwange National Park. It overlooks wide open grasslands and has a pan (waterhole) that is a magnet for wildlife. On this safari at the end of the dry season, the Linkwasha Concession has one of the highest concentrations of elephants anywhere in Africa. You can expect to see literally hundreds of them every day! You'll also see large herds of buffalo, zebra, impala, sable and many other species. Predators include lion, cheetah and painted dogs. Linkwasha is situated in a vast, private wilderness. Our guests enjoy sole occupancy of the entire camp. This exclusivity makes you feel deeply immersed in unspoiled nature. All eight en-suite luxury tents are beautifully furnished and offer air conditioning with sliding glass doors to your own private deck. Sumptuous meals and drinks are served al fresco on one of the decks in the main area looking out over the waterhole and the beautiful savannah.

Every day for seven whole days, you will feel your heart beat to the rhythm of the wilderness. Even though we will follow a similar program most days, wildlife sightings and other events guarantee that no two days are ever the same! You will be guided by two of Africa's most highly qualified Professional Guides whose knowledge will astonish you. Only 200 guides have qualified at this proficiency level since 1980! As they are with us for an entire week, they are able to take you on a far deeper immersion into nature. Waking at dawn each day, you'll enjoy a light breakfast before heading out on our morning 4X4 game drive or walking safari. After our mid-morning 'lndaba' (traditional African gathering) in the shade of a tree, we'll return to camp for a hearty brunch. Every day, we set aside a couple of hours for you to soak up your wilderness experience - we call it 'Africa Time'. This is followed by our late afternoon safari, with the traditional stop for 'Sundowners.' A decadent dinner rounds out the day with tall tales of course, around the campfire.

Hugh really believes in Africa, being an ex- Zimbabwean and he's got incredible passion for wildlife and Zimbabwe. Heather is one of the most organized and nicest people I've ever met. They are a great combination and Tasimba is a fantastic Safari operation. Garth Thompson, Tasimba Keystone Guest "...widely regarded as the best African guide" (Conde Nast)
er r After one or two days of our Tasimba week, you'll really come to appreciate the unique 'Tasimba advantage' of being in camp for seven whole days. You'll understand exactly why we say 'stay longer, go deeper'. With each new day, you're learning and absorbing so much more - about nature, about wildlife and, since we're totally disconnected from the outside world, even about yourself. And, arising from all the wonderful experiences you are sharing every day, you'll appreciate even more the added enjoyment of doing so in the company of like-minded guests. When we visit a nearby rural village you will be immersed even more deeply into local culture. We will have a fascinating conversation with the village Headman in his traditional meeting hut, and browse the authentic crafts market. Then, in what is always an unforgettable highlight of the entire Tasimba week, you will spend magical time chatting with small groups of Grade 6 kids in the village Primary School. They are sure to inspire your heart with their joy, their curiosity and their laughter.

lndaba
AN AFRICAN TRADITION
From the very start, the purpose of our Tasimba Signature Safaris has always been to inspire our guests' hearts and minds through deep immersion in the African wilderness. Throughout the week, many aspects of local culture we introduce and tradition. One of them is our daily lndaba. Modeled on traditional African culture, the lndaba is an exchange of views among the village elders in which everyone contributes. True to tradition, our guests sit in a circle under the shade of a big tree. Immersed in the wilderness, we'll explore issues of conservation, culture, community and life lessons from nature in the company of local experts who we bring in to lead the conversations. Our guests are always amazed to see how their own perspectives are shaped as a result of being deep in the African bush, totally disconnected from the outside world. And, because we are in camp with the wonderfully engaging staff for a full week, you have the opportunity to get to know a lot more about them and their families. Like all the local people you meet this week, you will find them to be warm, fun-loving and passionately committed to what they do.
