RollCall is an immediate and secure application that utilises GPS technology to share information with parents in realtime.

It grants parents increased visibility, convenience, and peace of mind during their child’s journey on the TAS school bus.

The RollCall parent app (mobile) or web portal (computer) is available to TAS families commencing 2024.

Benefits

CONVENIENT PLANNING Parents can manage, add, edit and cancel their child’s bus bookings and payments on RollCall.

REAL TIME VISIBILITY Parents and the school are kept informed of student movements and bus delays with live-mapping of the school bus route in operation.

PEACE-OF-MIND Students tap their ID card when boarding and departing the bus and parents receive alerts when their child is manifested. RollCall’s increased safety features alert drivers if a student attempts to board the wrong bus, or depart at the wrong stop.

How to Login to RollCall Every Trinity Anglican School parent/guardian with a Single Sign-On (SSO) login, will be able to access RollCall. To gain access, please follow the steps below: TAS PARENT HUB

*Note: You will not be able to login to RollCall until you have set up your Single Sign-On (SSO) credentials for the TAS Parent Platforms.

LOGIN VIA DESKTOP (PARENT HUB)

To access RollCall via a desktop computer, please go to the TAS Parent Hub by scanning the QR code or visiting: parenthub.tas.qld.edu.au

Login to Parent Hub using your Single Sign-On (SSO) credentials.*

Once you are logged in, click the ‘RollCall’ button in the main menu.

Please click ‘Single Sign-On’ (SSO).

You will be redirected to an authentication page and prompted to enter your SSO credentials to gain immediate access to your RollCall account.

ROLLCALL APP

LOGIN VIA MOBILE (TAS ORBIT APP)

To access RollCall via your mobile device, please download the RollCall Parent app by scanning the QR code or searching ‘RollCall Parent’ in the Google Play or Apple App Store.

Once downloaded, open the app and enter the school code ‘tascairns’. Once the code is approved, a ‘Single Sign-On’ button will appear.

Click ‘Single Sign-On’ and you will be redirected to an authentication page and be prompted to enter your SSO credentials to gain immediate access to your RollCall account.

How to Make a Booking Please scan the QR code for a video demo on how to make a booking via the RollCall app.

To make a booking on a TAS bus for your child, first login to RollCall.

Click on the ‘Bookings’ tab in the main menu.

Click ‘Create New Booking’ or the ‘+’ symbol

Select which student you would like to make a booking for and the required period, then click ‘Apply’.

If you are booking via the RollCall app, click ‘Add New Stop’. Skip this step for Dektop.

Select from the drop down menus the required Group (e.g. AM), Bus (e.g. Blue Bus), Stop (e.g.

Woodward St), and the date range you would like to book for and then click ‘Confirm/Save’.

Please complete the details to customise your booking and click ‘Apply’.

Repeat as required for all bookings and students.

Note: Parents will receive an email confirmation of each booking made.

If you require a full time, or part time recurring booking, we recommend booking for the entire semester window to ensure your child’s seat is reserved.

How to Edit a Booking VIA DESKTOP (PARENT HUB)

Parents can edit a booking up to 21 days in advance. To edit an existing booking for your child, first login to RollCall via desktop.

Click on the ‘Buses’ tab in the main menu.

Select which student you would like to edit a booking for.

Click ‘Make a change’.

Insert the date range the booking you need to edit occurs on.

Next to the booking, select ‘Change’.

Make your edits and then click ‘Confirm’ to finalise.

Repeat for each required booking.

Click on the ‘Bus Changes’ tab in the main menu.

Select which student you would like to edit a booking for.

Then click ‘Confirm’ to review the summary and save changes.

How to Cancel a Booking VIA DESKTOP (PARENT HUB)

Parents can delete a booking up to 21 days in advance. To delete an existing booking for your child, first login to RollCall via desktop.

Select which student you would like to cancel a booking for.

Click ‘Make a change’.

Next to the booking, select ‘delete’ and then click ‘confirm’ to finalise.

How to Navigate HOW TO SET UP ALERTS

To set up custom alerts, login to RollCall.

Click the tab labelled ‘Alerts’.

Select the student you would like to set alerts up for.

Select your preferences to receive alerts when your child scans on the bus, scans off (departs) the bus and if an exception occurred.

Repeat for each required student.

HOW TO VIEW LIVE MAP Upon logging into your RollCall Parent Portal your dashboard will show a live map of current bus activity.

If there are no routes in progress, ‘Your route is not logged in’ will display.

REPORTING ABSENCES If your child will be absent from the bus on a pre-booked date, you can let the school and the bus company know through the RollCall app.

Simply click the button ‘Bus Absences’ and ‘Add’ a absence by completing the fields.

Who uses RollCall?

A

All TAS students who catch the TAS school bus use RollCall. Students in Prep, Year 1 and Year 2 are unable to catch the school bus without permission from their Head of Campus.

At anytime parents can see the balance of their account via the ‘transactions’ tab. To make a payment please click ‘credit’ and follow the prompts.

This Frequently Asked Questions document has been designed to help you quickly find the answers you’re looking for, so you can better navigate RollCall and make informed decisions.

Bus fees must be paid in full before the end of the school year, or before you cease to use the service (whichever occurs first).

Bookings are invoiced on a pay as you travel basis.

Parents will receive their invoices for payment after bookings are placed.

All bus fees are payable via Rollcall App. Credit Card payments incur a surcharge of 1.7%.

Can I pay for RollCall with MSA funds?

Parents must pay for their child’s bus fees through the RollCall app. MSA funds can be transfered to pay RollCall invoices if the parent directly contacts the TAS Finance Department. Note: This may take up to 2 business days.

Why is RollCall being introduced?

A

RollCall is a secure application that utilises GPS technology and grants parents increased visibility, convenience and peace of mind whilst their child/ren is travelling on the TAS school bus.

What if my child has left their card at home?

A

If your child has forgotten their ID card then they can be added to the manifest by the bus driver.

What if my child loses their ID card?

If your child has lost or misplaced their ID card, they should advise their teacher or campus administration and complete this form. Once a new card is issued, the old card will be inactive. Please note replacement cards incur a $5 fee, which can be paid in cash, EFTPOS or charged to your MSA.

How do I close an account and get a refund for the balance?

A

The funds on your account are managed by the school. Parents should contact the TAS Finance Department if you have remaining balances.

What if I have forgotten to pay for my child’s bus bookings?

A

If there are no funds on your childs account, they will still be accepted on the TAS bus. Parents will be issued invoices and reminders. Overdue balances must be paid within 14 days.

What if my child’s route is as capacity?

A

If the bus you are trying to book is at capacity, please contact the White Rock Secondary administration on 4036 8111.

Q

What if I have forgotten to book my child onto the bus?

A

If a student who has not booked the bus attempts to board, they will be accepted. Students will be manifested for their trip and billed the casual rate to their RollCall account. Overdue balances must be paid within 14 days.

Q

What security measures does RollCall have?

A

Data is secured and decentralised in siloed AWS data centres. When the card is scanned, a photo of the student and their name appears on the terminal screen, preventing student’s from swapping or stealing cards.
