Caught Ya Cards, distributed by our Trail Ambassadors and Trail Crews, celebrate trail users displaying great trail etiquette. The cards can also be used as positive reinforcement after a tough conversation regarding poor trail etiquette. Thank you, sponsors!
The Cherry Capital Cycling Club will host Courtesy & Cookie events along the trail network for the second year in a row!
These events will take place along the Leelanau Trail and Sleeping Bear Heritage Trail during high-traffic times. The goal is to encourage trail users to have fun, learn about trail safety, and how to interact with other trail users.
After a successful run of striping along the Leelanau Trail, we plan to stripe portions of the Boardman Lake Loop Trail.
The stripes will act the same as stripes found on the road to delineate lanes. We will stripe only the sections that pose a hazard, such as blind corners, to keep trail traffic in a single file line while traversing the area.
Trail Etiquette signs can be found throughout the trail network. These signs are interchangeable and will be updated weekly by our amazing TART Trails Ambassadors!
Signs, signs everywhere!
Our trail etiquette efforts focus on education campaigns and trail design to create thriving communities that celebrate the outdoors and active lifestyles. We encourage trail users to exercise courtesy, caution, and control while on the trail to ensure everyone can feel safe and confident on our trail network.
We are dedicated to cultivating inclusivity and enhancing the outdoor experience for people of all ages and abilities. Our mission revolves around fostering recreation, promoting wellbeing, and providing accessible transportation options. As the number of trail users continues to grow, we strive to nurture a culture of kindness and respect among all who traverse these paths.
