MISSION STATEMENT Immaculate Heart Academy is a college preparatory high school in the Archdiocese of Newark which has as its purpose the complete education of young women. By both cultivating the traditional Christian values of the Roman Catholic Church and by upholding exceptional academic standards, IHA offers a unique educational experience for the young women in our community. Immaculate Heart Academy strives to develop every aspect of the individual by educating the mind, nurturing the spirit, and promoting a healthy lifestyle. By instilling in its students a sense of responsibility, confidence, justice, peace, and compassion, Immaculate Heart Academy prepares its students for life throughout the twenty-first century.

LETTER FROM PAT Dear Friend, On behalf of our entire school community, I would like to thank you for your incredible support of Immaculate Heart Academy. It is because of you that we are continuing to move our school onward and upward.

Over the last decade, our campus has had a historic transformation with the addition of our Information Commons, TV broadcast studio, art studio, fitness center, Sisters’ Chapel, and, most recently, our Athletic Field Complex. It is due to the generosity of donors like you that we have been able to provide these state-of-the-art learning and spiritual spaces, dynamic academic experiences, and robust athletic and arts programs.

Gifts have also directly supported our scholarship and financial aid fund. More than 40% of our students received financial aid last year. Your altruism has afforded these students with the opportunity to learn and grow into empowered women who will change our world.

When I completed my first school year as Director of Development at Immaculate Heart Academy last June, I couldn’t help but feel an overwhelming sense of gratitude.

As I count my blessings, I include having the opportunity to fundraise for IHA as one of them.

Our school’s mission of instilling the power of service, sisterhood, and scholarly pursuits in our students is lived up to every single day. We could not continue to do this great work without your support.

HIGHLIGHTS OF 2018-2019 Immaculate Heart Academy celebrated many achievements last school year! This only captures a portion of what our community has accomplished.

FUNDRAISING: ΃ Immaculate Heart Academy hosted its first-ever Valentine’s Day of Giving on February 14, 2019. ΃ For the first time in IHA history, every student and every faculty and staff member made a gift to the Annual Fund. ΃ The day raised more than $50,000.

ACADEMICS: ΃ 16 National Merit 2020 Scholarship Awards, including 13 National Merit Commended Students and 3 National Merit Semi-Finalists. ΃ With those 3 Semifinalists, we have the most of any all-girls school in New Jersey and we are tied for the most of any Catholic school in the state! ΃ 53 students earned AP Scholar Status • 1 National AP Scholar (3 or higher on eight AP exams) • 15 AP Scholars with Distinction (3 or higher on five AP exams) • 9 AP Scholars with Honor (3 or higher on four AP exams) • 28 AP Scholars (3 or higher on three AP exams)

SERVICE: ΃ In the 2018-2019 school year, our students gave more than 45,000 hours of service to various organizations—3.5x more than the requirement. ΃ We held our inaugural BELIEVE conference last summer. One hundred students attended the three-day conference that featured two well-known female Catholic authors and keynote speakers.
