Grateful Moments from November

“I just want to say thank you to our front office staff at Elm. They always go above and beyond to keep our schedules in check and help us run smoothly. Thank you, Stephanie, Itzel, Sonia, William and Wanda. Your hard work doesn’t go unnoticed.”

“I’m so grateful to get to work with such warm and welcoming teammates! I’ve been so thankful for all the teaching and direction during my orientation. I’m grateful to get to work with my TAPM team members!”

“When I was here a few weeks ago with my daughter, I was so grateful and appreciative for the care we received from Dr. Roper. He is always thorough when it comes to his patients and their needs. Whenever I come for a visit to one of the sites at TAPM, I can always count on getting exceptional care from the front desk staff, nurses, and providers. I am super grateful to not only be apart of the TAPM team but also to be one of the valued patients here at Triad Adult & Pediatric Medicine.”

“My grateful moment began the first week of me becoming a part of Elm Street. We have a really good group of staff members here. But one special person I would like to give a shout out to is Kimberly Dickey. She have made my work days so easy to just be here. Kim is an amazing person, If you are having a bad day Kim will always encourage you to just hang in there. Even when she may be having a not so good day herself. She will make sure you just give your best. I love that about her, and I just want to give her this shout out. Thank you Kimberly Dickey.”

“My grateful moment is with Michelle Holder. We had a quadriplegic patient with a pressure ulcer and was having trouble getting supplies. Michelle called his insurance company while in office, navigated using an interpreter and found out how to help the patient get the supplies he needed. This would not have been something that I would have immediately been able to do. The patient and his wife were grateful for her time and expertise with home health which helped them through the process.”

“Jennifer Willis always goes above and beyond for patients. Not only is she willing to help with any requests, but what makes her extraordinary is that she is LOOKING for ways to be helpful, and she often ANTICIPATES needs before she is even asked. Her heart to serve is so obvious, and she is such a JOY to work with!!”

“My second shout out goes to Makeba Sanders, She is another one that will just keep your spirit lifted while on the job. She is always there to have a listening ear. She too will encourage you to just be the best you can be. All the while she has a smile that speaks value and I'm so thankful to just be able to work around a group of great people. Moving here from Florida was very scary. I didn't know what to expect in a new work environment, But having women like this around you daily makes me know I made the right decision.”

QI WHENTOWASH?

Handwashing Awareness

After using the restroom

Before, during, and after preparing food

Before eating food

After being in public spaces (e.g., touching doorknobs, handrails, or shared equipment)

Before and after caring for someone at home who is sick

After changing diapers or cleaning up after someone who has used the bathroom

After touching an animal, animal feed, or animal waste

After blowing your nose, coughing, or sneezing

After handling pet food or pet treats

After touching garbage

Keeping hands clean is one ofthe most important things we can do to stop the spreadof germs andstayhealthy!

The Importance of Washing Your Hands During Cold and Flu Season

Cold and flu season is here, and with it comes the heightened risk of spreading germs in our homes, workplaces, and communities While vaccinations and proper self-care are key defenses, handwashing remains one of the simplest and most powerful tools in our fight against illness

The Science Behind Handwashing

Have you ever wondered why handwashing is so effective? Germs thrive in shared environments, clinging to surfaces like doorknobs, phones, and even pens When we touch our faces something we do about 23 times an hour on average those germs find an easy pathway into our bodies through our eyes, nose, or mouth

Soap doesn’t just clean your hands; it breaks down the outer layer of many viruses and bacteria, making them less infectious Pairing soap with running water and friction physically removes these germs, leaving your hands clean and your body better protected

The Ripple Effect of Healthy Habits

As healthcare professionals, we have a unique role in preventing the spread of illness By consistently washing our hands, we create a ripple effect that extends to our patients, families, and coworkers

Protecting

Vulnerable Populations:

Many of the individuals we serve are more susceptible to complications from colds, the flu, or other respiratory illnesses. Our habits can directly impact their health outcomes.

Modeling

Best Practices:

Our actions set the tone for patients and visitors When they see us prioritizing hand hygiene, they’re more likely to follow suit, creating healthier communities overall

Small Steps, Big Payoff

Hand hygiene may seem like a minor task, but its impact is anything but small. Beyond reducing your personal risk of illness, frequent and proper handwashing helps keep entire teams healthy and ensures that we can continue providing excellent care without interruption

Let’s continue to support each other in maintaining these vital habits Together, we can make this cold and flu season a healthier one for everyone
