“Today we celebrate the 250 anniversary our nation’s official break from Great Britain and its monarchy th
Despite what we see in the media and the alleged claim that we “have never been more divided”, I believe this country is more united than you may think After all, we went to war with each other 165 years ago Despite its flaws and people’s opinions, it is impossible to make a legitimate argument against the notion that the United States of America is the greatest nation ever to exist Freedom, liberty, and opportunity These are the reasons people still flock from all over the world to be a part of it. No matter who is in the White House, no matter what the latest tax law was, and no matter what the current social topic of debate is, these principles are what will always unite and guide us as a country
The spirit of this country has always been to roll up your sleeves and do what needs to be done. Whether that be giving King George the middle finger, stopping the Axis powers in WW2, or leading the world into new ages of technology and science
Our slice of the pie may not be the biggest in the country, but we certainly do our part. You’ve heard me say it a million times, h l keep the nation’s infrastructure intact, we keep food urers running, and we clean up the messes from the ns before us Every person in this company contributes ssion. The crews in the field, the mechanics keeping t running, the drivers, operators, project managers, , sales team, accounting, safety, HR, and everyone e scenes it all matters It is no different than us all ng to uphold the values our country was founded on

plenty of places in the world where the current trend less, slow down, and let someone else deal with the ems That may be fine for them, but that is not what ountry, and it is not what keeps it moving America by people willing to work, sacrifice, and innovate. That dset applies directly to Taplin. In our line of work, the not unclog itself, the plant does not stay running by and the site does not clean itself up We do what be done
and always will be an ongoing experiment one n freedom, tested through adversity, strengthened by and carried forward by those willing to build, protect, ve what they inherited ”

ve and that paired with her naturally competitive nature makes her hard to beat I have thrown literally everything AND a book at her in her over the last 8 months since she moved into the office as my Marketing support role and she has crushed it She asks great questions when she’s learning something new, she’s easy to coach, and she has never given me less than 110% try The fact that I can task her with things, show her how to do it and then trust that she can handle it from there is priceless Plus, she has great ideas and always adds perspective and color to any discussion As she gains experience and confidence in her design and marketing strategy skills, she will be an absolute powerhouse for us I feel very fortunate to have her on my team ”
g y time on staff with Taplin With basically no “office” experience to start with, she had a steep learning curve to jump into with data entry and management, spreadsheets, Google drives, corporate emails, etc But she has absolutely risen to the challenge She is enthusiastic about her work, an absolute delight to work with and doesn’t hesitate to ask questions when she needs help or clarification Her willingness to be immersed in all-thing’s-client-data has been instrumental in reshaping how we use Nutshell and how we structure our CRM marketing strategies We’ve needed a “Nutshell guru ” to own client data and make sure we capture and leverage all the data collected and Britni is happily becoming that person As she continues to learn and expand her skills and familiarity with Nutshell, I’m really excited to think about the possibilities, especially if she ever decides to move into a full-time role I feel very fortunate to have her on my team ”

I have worked for Taplin for 23 years, since April of 2003. I am a Site Superintendent/Vactor Operator/Trainer. I grew up in central Wisconsin, my wife Cherrie grew up on the east side of the state, 30 miles north of Detroit. We met while she was living in Wisconsin. We have been married for 30 years and have one son, Brett. I moved to Michigan to take a job with Pat, Steve, and Bills company, which was DownUnder Municipal at that time. DownUnder Municipal eventually merged with Terra Contracting which is now Taplin Group. I have been here through several changes, company name changes, and company growth.
In my free time I enjoy spending time with family and friends, playing corn hole, doing some home improvement projects, going to Nascar races, detailing vehicles, and playing with our dog, Ziva.
Someday I would like to take a trip to Hawaii and to own a collector car.
The reasons I continue to work here are numerous. The obvious one is it allows me to take care of my family, which is something very important to me. It offers me stability and hopefully some lasting friendships. I enjoy the camaraderie and the family atmosphere Working here is never boring. My job brings new challenges and troubleshooting opportunities on a regular basis I enjoy training and providing support for new teammembers. I appreciate the opportunity this company has given me to learn this industry and develop a solid career. The help and support the Taplin family has given me through the years has been invaluable. I’m happy to be part of whatever the future brings with our company.
