Medieval Tapestries A person, who is keen on the history of a place or a culture, is always drawn towards the art of that time. For instance, the ones who like to read are always curious about the old books and manuscripts, while the ones who have a love for landscapes are amazed by the architecture and the places around. Some may not like to travel and explore history but they keep it close to their heart. One such way to do so is by investing in famous medieval wall tapestries. The importance of medieval tapestry art was observed when the people of old time realized that they were the easiest to transport from one place to another. In today’s time, it is even easier to transport, deliver and fix them in your home. But is it enough to just hang them in your living room? Actually, your work here is not done! Medieval tapestries are delicately designed with fabrics that may fade over time. If not cared for enough, they might lose the show of their appearance. Here, Save on Tapestries brings you four ways by which you can take care of such awesome pieces of art. After all, they are not just there to be hung up; they adorn your room and your personality in front of your guests!

MULBERRY TREE BELGIAN TAPESTRY WALL HANGING Mulberry Tree is a Belgian made jacquard wall tapestry depicting the work of Vincent van Gogh painted in the fall of 1889 when he was almost in the state of mania. The Mulberry Tree represents his passionate feelings about what he saw. He believed this to be the best of his mulberry tree paintings, in which the tree is seen uniquely through his eyes. The texture of the original piece is simply extraordinary, made possible through a process called impasto, where the paint is applied so thick it appears three dimensional when dry. The result is both spontaneous and brilliant. The fiery branches of twisting yellow burst from the tree, reaching for the bright blue sky. This wonderful tapestry captures van Gogh’s work perfectly. An astoundingly beautiful tapestry that lends an air of life renewed to your surroundings.

LE DESIR CLAIR BELGIAN TAPESTRY WALL HANGING Le Desir Fonce, or Desire, is a Belgian wall tapestry made in Belgium. It comes from the The Lady with the Unicorn series originally woven in 1510 by Willem de Pannemaker, and featuring the arms of Jean le Viste who originally commissioned the 6 tapestries. Each represent one of the senses except for the final A Mon Seul Desir, commonly considered to be a declaration of love. These masterpieces were lost until 1844 when novelist George Sand discovered them in Boussac suffering from damage from rats and damp walls. The Cluny Museum in Paris purchased them in 1883 and restored them. They are now considered among the national treasures of France. A fine accent to your home décor.
