PROPER WAY A
WORD FROM THE PRO...
Hello Tapatio Members!
2023 is off to a flying start! We hosted a successful MGA/LGA shared charity event that raised funds for local Veterans and First Responders. The weather, except for a few really cold days, has cooperated and made for some good golf. We also recently upgraded our golf carts with a new GPS system with a much cleaner, and clearer touchscreen monitor.
While the course remains dry and dormant, I wanted to mention that we do remain cart path only and expect that to continue until we get significant rain and growth in the fairways. I thank you for your understanding and cooperation. We will continue to make exceptions for legitimate disabilities that prevent someone from walking from the cart path to their golf ball, however, we ask that those who have been given the exemption to please adhere to the 90-degree rule. It has been brought to our attention that some members have been seen “driving all over the place”. Please do your part to prevent damage to the turf and limit the amount of driving on the dormant fairways.
I found some interesting information about this historic drought that we’ve been in for the last year or so. According to the National Weather Service, 2022 was the 2nd driest and 9th warmest year on record in San Antonio weather stats. In addition to that, Kendall County is the ONLY county in the state that is considered 100% in the “Exceptional Drought” category. We are essentially the bullseye for the worst drought conditions in the state (actual website can be found here):
Some experts believe that this year will cycle out of the La Nina pattern and move more towards a normal weather pattern, so we’re keeping our fingers crossed that that holds true.
