As 2022 draws to a close, I wanted to take this opportunity to thank all of you for your continued support of The Club At Tapatio Springs, and the Golf Course Team. It’s certainly been an interesting year! Between a 3 day freeze in late March, the worst drought in recent history, and the warmest, windiest summer in many years, the weather has certainly been an issue. Add to that the continued supply chain and labor market issues, we have faced many challenges this year. Eric and the Golf Maintenance Team have worked tirelessly to keep playing conditions as good as possible given the lack of water this year and our Golf Operations Team remains strong and committed to providing the best membership experience possible.
There are many great things on the horizon at Tapatio. With our new ownership group and management company, there will be some exciting announcements coming in 2023 soon regarding much-needed improvements to the overall Resort. There has recently been some progress on the waste water treatment plant that will provide us with the irrigation water needed to maintain exceptional golf course conditions into the future. Thank you for your continued patience as we all await to hear what is in store for us in the future of the Club
Golf Course/Golf Cart Update:
We have received many inquiries regarding the cart path only status after a little bit of rain in November. We received just over 2 inches of rain for the month, which certainly helped. Unfortunately, it was too little, too late in the season to make a big impact on the growth and strength of the fairways to allow for carts to go 90 degrees. As we go into the colder winter months, the grass remains thin, and the root system isn’t as strong as in years past. For the health of the turf, we will continue restricting carts to cart paths for the foreseeable future. I know it’s not ideal and somewhat of an inconvenience for some, but we must do whatever we can to protect the golf course conditions moving forward.
