We’ve had an amazing July as far as rain totals……the golf course received just over 6 inches of rain in July!!! This, along with the hard work of the Golf Maintenance Team, has resulted in prime playing conditions on the golf course. I’ve heard the same comment from many of you…. “I haven’t see the course this good, this time of year, for many years. ” It’s truly amazing to see the transformation from just a couple months ago to today. As always, it will take a little effort on everyone ’ s part to help maintain this level of golf course conditions. Please be mindful of the following areas everyone should be helping with.
90-Degree Rule
As mentioned in previous PRoper Way articles, limiting the amount of traffic on the fairways is crucial to keeping the fairways in great shape. It takes everyone ’ s cooperation to make this happen. Utilizing the 90-Degree Rule is the easiest way to do this.
Repairing Ball Marks on Greens
As I walk the greens, I usually notice (and repair) several unrepaired pitch marks on the greens. This is a simple process that helps maintain course conditions, but also helps those players behind your group. If you didn’t know, there is a PRoper Way to repair a ball mark on the greens. Click on the link below for a great video from the USGA that explains how to repair a ball mark so it’s hardly noticeable.
