ASSOCIATION "MI" - SPLIT When?

Association“MI”–SplitisanNGOlocated inSplit(Croatia)thathasbeenactive since1996.

Weareworkingintensivelyonpromoting socialsolidarity,volunteering,active citizenship,civicparticipationandalsoin reducingtheriskofdiscriminationagainst vulnerablegroups,andraisingthequality oflifeandworkofitstargetgroups (volunteers,theelderly,organisationsin civilsociety,etc.).

Whatareweexpectingfromyou?

If you are between the ages of 18 and 30 and from the country covered by the program, you can apply!

We are expecting you to participate in volunteering activities for up to 6 hours a day (mostly from Monday to Friday, with a few exceptions) from November 4th 2024 to May 31st 2025, with a short break during Christmas time :)

You are free to organize you free time outside volunteering as you like - take up a hobby, socialize with other ESC volunteer (there will be two of you in our program), explore the city with other foreigners in Split, go to the beach if the weather is nice, etc.

Based on your wishes and interests, you will volunteer in various activities with our target groups (youth and elderly) and we are open to your suggestions!

Activities

Activities

Wewillalsoneedyourhelpinorganizingpublic eventsaroundvariousimportantdates (InternationalDayofOlderPersons,celebration ofInternationalvolunteerDay,etc.)andalsoin organizingeducationalactivitiesforyouth.

Withyouthyoucanorganizevariousworkshops andeducationalactivitiesforexampleonactive participationinthesociety,solidarityormaybe youcanshareyourexperienceinvolunteering!

CityofSplit

AllvolunteeractivitiestakeplaceinSplit,whichisthesecondlargestcityinCroatiaandis locatedalongtheeasterncoastoftheAdriaticSea,whichmeansthatyoushouldbring yourswimsuitandtakeadvantageofthesunnydaysandyourfreetime!

SociallifeinSplitisverygoodandadjustedtoyoungpeople.Manycultural,sportsand entertainmenteventstakeplacethroughouttheyear.

Practicalinformation

Volunteering locations are both in the city centre: Sinjska 7 (main office, where you'll be most of the time) and Branimirova obala 1 (Golden Age Centre).

Accomodation: you will have a private room (not shared!) near the city centre (pictured on the left). Amenities: double bed with bathroom, air conditioning, table and a TV. The kitchen and living area are shared.

Getting around: There’s a short 10 minute walk to our office and city centre. :)

Whatexpenseswill wecover?

Youwillnotreceiveasalaryforyourvolunteer engagement,butinadditiontotraveland accommodationcosts,onceaweekyouwillbe abletogoshoppingforbasicingredientsfrom whichyouwillpreparemeals.Eachvolunteerwill receivearound240€permonthforliving expenses,whichisapproximatelythepriceofa consumerbasketinCroatia.

Foralladditionalexpenses,youwillhavea guaranteedallowanceof10€perday.Also,all volunteerswhocometoourorganizationwillhave ahealthinsurance.
