Management and the workforce

We have harvested the first fruit from our long-term commitment to the Emirates by securing the first contracts for the project business. LED-light arrow technology, liftable warning boards and large-format LED displays were prepared for dispatch bang on schedule and delivered to customers by our sales personnel.

Nissen Middle East, the offshoot of our London-headquartered subsidiary Nissen UK, is working hard to further develop our interests in the Emirates. Planning is already underway for “Gulf Traffic“ in Dubai, where our team will be showcasing new solutions and projects at our own stand, paving the way for success in the region – EXPO 2020 and the 2022 FIFA World Cup are already casting their long shadows.

We’re the world champions! … at least that’s what our national football team can call itself for the next four years. NISSEN admittedly isn‘t (yet) a world champion but at least we came within a hair‘s breadth with our products.

With several deliveries of plastic event barriers we helped to make the streets and above all the hordes of visitors outside the stadia just a little bit safer during this year’s World Championship. You can take a look at our work on this short video (see QR code). The next major event will be staged soon and we‘ll be there again.

Zyklop 220 – Nissen’s first LED warning lamp – consumes up to 70% less energy!* Once again our development department has succeeded in delivering a pioneering new product.

The Zyklop 220 – a 220-mm single LED warning lamp which consumes up to 70% less energy than its predecessor lamp with two LEDs. This means you achieve up to 70% longer operating times, fewer battery changes and service trips and as a result less work. Naturally, the Zyklop 220 has been tested by the BASt (Germany’s Federal Highway Research Institute) and fully complies with German standards and EN 12352. The lamp is available as an advance warning lamp and as a light arrow lamp and examples of application include in the small LED light arrow LP15, LP13 Classic and LP23, light arrow systems for warning trailers signs 616-30 and 616-31, warning boards and multiple warning systems.

A major accolade for our partner WORLD CENTER LTDA. Sao Paulo, Brazil – The city of Sao Paulo alone is home to some 11 million people. The entire federal state of Sao Paulo has around 20.5 million inhabitants who inch their way along its roads in around 7 million vehicles, with traffic jams stretching to up to 300 kilometres in length at peak times. All of which makes dealing with road safety here a Sisyphean task.

NISSEN has been successful working for over 15 years in Sao Paulo with Jorge Eduardo Tannuri and his company WORLD CENTER LTDA. Jorge has risen to the challenge and, in the year when his company WORLD CENTER LTDA celebrated its 20th anniversary, has been deservedly recognised by the Brazilian authorities for his tireless endeavours to improve safety on Brazil‘s roads.

Reason enough for us to extend our congratulations to Jorge and his 25-strong team on their anniversary and this achievement. Parabens Jorge!

To see and be seen is vital

GPEC 2014 (General Police Equipment & Conference) in Leipzig

This year we were again represented at GPEC (General Police Equipment & Conference). Alongside more than 500 exhibitors from around the globe we showcased our latest innovations in the field of police equipment, generating a great deal of interest among the international trade visitors.

The hottest topic of conversation among visitors was emergency vehicle equipment.

There was a good deal of interest in many of our products and in particular in our WeNiPol (Wechselverkehrszeichen Nissen Polizei in German) and Traffic K3 LED variable message signs, each of which serves a different opera WeNiPol tional purpose.

Another crowd-puller at our stand was the Star-Flash LED

Type 627 warning lamp, which has proved extremely effective in use and is much in demand not least on account of its slimline design. The Synchros Mobile LED Sequential Hazard Set was also praised as a practical system for special uses.

Our exhibition team members, namely Rainer Göttsche (Sales Director Germany), Bernd Struve (Regional Manager Middle-West), Reinhard Feller (Regional Manager East), Nancy Töpper (Regional Star-Flash LED Type 627 Manager North-East), Sascha Düspohl (Export Director) and Christian Lohse (Export Director), would like to thank everyone for the interest shown and the many interesting discussions.
