THE LION'S DEN December 23: Western Australia State Swimming The Merlions Performance Squad swim team, consisting of seven members, participated in the Western Australia State Championships during the December holidays. The team members, including Stella, Flora, Maddy, Tilly, Anand, Chloe, and Nathalie, competed in various individual events against top swimmers from Western Australia. Notable achievements include Nathalie winning two Gold medals in the 100-200m Freestyle events and Chloe surprising many with significant personal best times in Breaststroke events, securing 2 Silver and 1 Bronze medals. Anand, racing for the first time in Australia, achieved 5/5 personal best times. Flora also made impressive progress in her middle-distance freestyle events. These swimmers, along with 11 others, are set to participate in the upcoming SEASAC Championships in Hong Kong. Overall, the Merlions Performance Squad displayed commendable performances at the competition.

THE LION'S DEN January 24: U15 FOBISIA Netball Tanglin Lion's U15 netball teams participated in the FOBISIA Netball tournament in Kuala Lumpur, featuring 12 teams from various Asian countries. Both Tanglin Lions Teams performed well in competitive matches, finishing at the top of their pool in the round-robin stage. In the playoffs, they faced each other in the semi-finals, with TTS A narrowly defeating TTS B. TTS B secured third place by winning the 3/4th position match against ISP. TTS A reached the final against Dulwich, engaging in a closely contested match, ultimately losing 15-12. Overall, the players showcased outstanding performance and sportsmanship throughout the tournament, marking a successful and enjoyable experience for the Tanglin Lions.

THE LION'S DEN January 24: UWC East Dragons Invitational The Tanglin Lions SEASAC Touch squad had an impressive warm-up tournament at UWCE over the weekend. The girls showcased their skills against both club and school teams, securing three victories and one draw. This successful performance has positioned the girls favorably as they approach the upcoming tournament next weekend. Tanglin Touch SEASAC Squads A and B extend a warm invitation to everyone to come and show support at UWC East during the tournament. Go Lions!
