The opening round of the International Schools' Climbing League (ISCL) at Singapore American School proved to be a fiercely competitive and unforgiving event. With towering walls and no zone scoring to reward partial progress, climbers were pushed to their limits.
Success hinged on endurance and tactical decision-making, choosing climbs they could complete without wasting precious energy, as failed attempts yielded zero points. Despite the intensity, our climbers rose to the challenge with grit and determination. We’re proud to celebrate two podium finishes:
Thomas H (Y8) – 2nd Place, Youth B - Boys
Renata D (Y13) – 2nd Place, Junior - Girls

NUS
BoulderActive 2025
At NUS BoulderActive 2025, James and Dan Ru flew the Tanglin flag high! Both climbers secured two tops and a zone, finishing side by side in 15th and 16th place.
Although they narrowly missed out on the finals, their achievement was remarkable as they were the youngest competitors in the semifinals, going head-to-head with university athletes and members of the Singapore national team.
A fantastic effort and a great sign of what’s to come from these young climbers!

Malo (Year 9) - Wingfoil Competitions
Earlier in September, Malo made waves at the Singapore National Sailing Championships 2025, taking first place and becoming the very first National Champion in the Wingfoil class! A fantastic milestone for both him and the sport!
Later that month, he was invited to compete at the Jeju Supercup International Kiteboarding Competition in Korea, where he finished an impressive 7th in Wingfoil, racing against adults and even some World Cup athletes.
What an incredible experience and achievement for Malo!
