Tanglin Welcomes Crystal Palace Academy for Week of Learning and Excellence
Tanglin Football recently welcomed coaches from Crystal Palace Football Club for an inspiring and impactful week of football development, learning, and collaboration.
Bringing a wealth of experience from the Crystal Palace Academy, David, Michael, Phil, and Nathan worked closely with students across the Infant, Junior, and Senior Schools. Their professionalism, enthusiasm, and expertise were a genuine joy to witness, and they reinforced many of the key values and messages that underpin Tanglin’s football programme.
In addition to delivering high-quality coaching sessions, the visiting coaches also led workshops for both Tanglin and external coaches, positioning the school as a benchmark for best practice. They further engaged with parents, sharing insights into the football development pathway and enriching the wider Tanglin football community through their knowledge and experience.

Tanglin Lions Gym Showcase
We had the most fabulous Year-End Performance Showcase last Saturday, 20 June! It was a wonderful celebration of our program, our community, and the incredible hard work, growth, and achievements of all our children throughout the past year.
This special event brought together both our Junior and Senior programs for one combined showcase, creating a fantastic opportunity for everyone to celebrate as one community. The performances were filled with energy, confidence, and joy, and it was truly inspiring to see how much the children have accomplished.
Of course, the surprise Coaches' performance at the end was a crowd favourite and, according to many parents, the highlight of the entire show (their words, not ours!).
Thank you to all the children, families, and coaches who helped make this event so memorable. Please find the full recording of the performance linked here

Maya Shines on National Stage at U.S. New Balance Nationals
This week, Maya took to one of the biggest stages in youth athletics, competing at the U.S. New Balance Nationals widely regarded as one of the most elite outdoor track and field meets in the United States. The prestigious event brings together top athletes from across the country, making Maya’s presence all the more remarkable as the sole representative from Singapore.
The competition was held at the historic Franklin Field in Philadelphia, located at the University of Pennsylvania. Known as the oldest university track in the U.S., the iconic venue has hosted countless world-class performances, providing a fitting backdrop for Maya’s breakthrough showing.
Over the course of three consecutive days, Maya demonstrated exceptional resilience and versatility, competing in three demanding events: the 2-mile (3218m), 1-mile (1609m), and 800m. Out of more than 200 athletes, she was one of only 10 girls to take on all three races an impressive feat in itself.
Despite facing the challenges of a significant time zone adjustment, an unfamiliar competition environment, and her first experience at a large-scale meet, Maya delivered outstanding results. She achieved top 17% national rankings in both the 2-mile and 1-mile events, while recording personal best times across all three distances. Consistently competitive, she placed second or third in each of her heats
