FOBISIA Games 2026: A Week to Remember in Bangkok

What an incredible week it was for our Year 5 and Year 6 FOBISIA students as they competed in the FOBISIA Games in Bangkok.

Across three action-packed days, our young athletes took on competition in athletics, swimming, tee ball and football, putting months of preparation to the test on the international stage. Facing some of the strongest FOBISIA schools from China, Hong Kong, Taiwan and Vietnam, our students demonstrated exceptional skill, game awareness and teamwork, consistently competing at the highest level against incredibly strong opposition.

While the Games are about far more than results, it was fantastic to see the effort, preparation and teamwork rewarded in such a memorable way. The results speak for themselves - but even more impressive was the way our students supported one another, adapted under pressure, and showed strong teamwork and unity through months of training in preparation for the Games. Congratulations to all of our students for their commitment over the past six months and for representing the school with such pride throughout the competition.

Roar & Soar Gymfest 2026

Our final competition of the year took place on Sunday, 7 June, and was kindly hosted by our friends at UWCSEA East. This friendly competition is designed for our Intermediate Pathway gymnasts, providing them with an opportunity to showcase the skills they have been working on throughout the year in a supportive and encouraging environment.

We were proud to have 52 gymnasts representing our club across WAG Levels 2–4 and MAG Level 1, and they all performed brilliantly! For many of our gymnasts, this competition marked an important milestone, with our Year 1 Intermediate girls competing for the very first time, alongside several of our Year 2 Intermediate gymnasts making their competition debut as well. It was wonderful to see them rise to the occasion with confidence, determination, and plenty of smiles.

From confident routines and personal bests to outstanding teamwork and sportsmanship, our gymnasts demonstrated just how much they have grown this season.

Roar & Soar Gymfest 2026

A fantastic celebration of swimming performances at last week’s Senior Merlions Gala marking our biggest and most successful year of swimming to date!

Congratulations once again to our record breakers in the short course pool: Natalie R (50m Free – 25.51, 100m IM – 1:03.43), Eloise L (50m Breaststroke – 31.45), and Michael Yuan, who earns his place on the Records Board for the first time individually (50m Butterfly – 26.50).

To our departing Year 13s Chloe, Edward, and Betty thank you for your years of commitment and leadership within the Merlions team. You will be greatly missed. You will always have a home here whenever you’re back in Singapore, and Chloe, we look forward to following your journey at NYU over the next four years!
